Chandler#81 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/02/17/nfl-union-mediation.ap/index.html Isn't mediation typically near/@ the 'last resort' in negotiations? I guess D. Smith & the Commish really don't want $0.68 & $1 salaries respectively. I'm encouraged there'll be a full season.
KRC Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 It is non-binding. Therefore, neither side has to really listen to the mediator and the mediator has no authority over either side. However, the fact that they are even taking this step is a nice touch.

Typically both parties are not in the room together which can dial the intensity down a notch.
