/dev/null
it's a long way off but....fox poll. maybe they should try trump?edit poll 1 year old- fire away. The Republican field is pretty weak. It was weak a year ago. It's weak today. And it'll still be weak a year from now. Not that poll today or a year ago makes much difference. 4 years ago at this time Hillary Clinton was the next President of the United States. UConn James
If you think the Repubs field is weak - the Dems got President BO and then who - Okra Winfrey? A year ago was a political eternity. It was the health care legislation ago, it was the entire BP spill fiasco ago. It was a "thumping" ago. The Republican candidate doesn't need to be a knight in shining armor. Obama just has to continue being the Obama he's been once he had actual responsibility / a record on which to be evaluated. There is NO way Obama gets nearly as many Independent votes in 2012, which is the only reason he won. There is NO way.
Dave_In_Norfolk
I can't wait for the Republican Primaries!! If the tea bagger trash dominates the process--as they sure will--the GOP will only nominate someone who declares they masturbate with their guns, will eliminate the Federal government and make Nathan Beford Forrest's birthday a national holiday. Hey Palidino, why not run! And of course, the celebrity driven nature of the Republicans means some savage of course will do all he or she can do to win the nomination and not worry at all about actually winning the general election, but the nomination is worth $ millions. Look at how Palin has cashed in without being the least bit serious. Let the fun begin!!

Peace
The Democrats have the power of Incumbency Yup. Even in the grate bloodbath of 2010, incumbents rolled challengers in Congress with 87% in the house and 84% in the Senate retaining their seats. Ooh, wow, do you still feel the popular momentum? http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/incumbent-re-election-rates-in-the-2010-mid-terms/

Not one bit. Good economy, Obama wins. Bad economy, Obama's would lose to an actual tea bag. And let's face it, you can take everything he knows about jolting the economy, write it on a piece of paper and comfortably shove it up the ass of gnat. Here's a friendly tip: telling businesses that they have a responsibility to start hiring people isn't how it's done. But it was worth a try, right?

It's like the administration's finance team just woke up from a collective 20-year coma.

You can still win the war! Splintering? Has there been a finer example of wishful thinking on this board in the last month? In reality: the Republicans in the house and Senate have voted unanimously in all but a few major votes since Jan. But....there's "splintering". Perhaps Dave, MSNBC and the NY Times need to look up the definition of "projection", because the splintering has been on the Democratic side since Obama took office. People are laughing at the FUTILITY of your lame, smug, repeated, did I mention lame?, attempts at trying to spin, or worse, slander, the TEA party. You haven't been right, in any regard, about the TEA party, and that's why they kicked your ass--> Rule #1: know your enemy. If you keep lying to yourselves about: who the TEA party is, what they stand for, their priorities, whether they are racist, whether they are violent, then there's no way in hell you will ever really know them, and that's why they will continue to kick your ass.
