RevWarRifleman Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 Green Bay was the favorite by 2.5 pts. Thanks, Billsguy.
HBSS151 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks, Billsguy. and the over was 45 1/2 - the Vegas bookies took a bath - double whammy
Billsguy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 and the over was 45 1/2 - the Vegas bookies took a bath - double whammy Vegas bookies did NOT take a bath. Vegas sports books made money, but not very much compared to previous years. Here's the story: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-08/super-bowl-packers-win-nets-vegas-sports-books-smallest-profit-in-13-years.html
The Tomcat Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I bet Green Bay -3 and over 44 1/2 two teamer with a local bookie!
HBSS151 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Vegas bookies did NOT take a bath. Vegas sports books made money, but not very much compared to previous years. Here's the story: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-08/super-bowl-packers-win-nets-vegas-sports-books-smallest-profit-in-13-years.html Oh, fine - they "made" the smallest profit - they still were not happy BTW - sports books contribute little to a casino's bottom line in the end run Sounds like a government dodge - I didn't get a 6% increase this year - only a 2% - ipso facto 'I got cut'
Fan in San Diego Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Bookies load balance the bets and just take their skim of whatever percentage they charge. Exactly the same way horse racing industry makes money.
