Chandler#81 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Watching NFL Films SB hi-lite shows and History of the AFL recordings is both fun reminicing and heavy hearted for me. As a 10 year old in '65, the Bills had captured WNY's sports psyche with bach to back ALF titles. Kids & grown-ups alike, knew everything about the team and had no problem dissertating their view. With Channel 4 (CBS), we knew the whole NFL as well. The Browns just missed their chance at 'back to back' against Vince, and talk was everywhere comparing the Bills to those two teams. The war between the leagues was at fever pitch with player stealin', unheard of salaries and backdoor legal tactics. And the Buffalo Bills were at the center of mearger talks for the showcase product they fielded, winning the 'NFL way'' with smash-mouth offense and defense with great Special Teams. The country was dialed in, too. Many here will recall national televised games were just 7 years old ('58 Tilte Game, Colts v Giants) at this time. So, just for Super Bowl day fun, who wins: Super Bowl I The Buffalo Bills http://www.billsbackers.com/1964BILLS.htm vs. The Cleveland browns http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/team/history/year-by-year-results/1964.html Winner: _____________________________________ (my pick: Bills 20 Browns 13) Super Bowl II The Buffalo Bills http://www.billsbackers.com/1965BILLS.htm vs. The Green Bay Packers http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ycn-7501828 http://www.jt-sw.com/football/pro/rosters.nsf/Annual/1965-gb Winner: _________________________________________ (my pick: Packers 27, Bills 16)
