IDBillzFan
"We have so many people who can't see a fat man standing next to a thin one without coming to the conclusion the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one." R. Reagan, 1964 If you've ever looked for an example of "The more things change, the more they stay the same," read this speech. DC Tom
"We have so many people who can't see a fat man standing next to a thin one without coming to the conclusion the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one." R. Reagan, 1964 If you've ever looked for an example of "The more things change, the more they stay the same," read this speech. The most startling thing about that speech to me was how much smarter it was than virtually anything you hear nowadays. It was coherent, it had a central thesis, it had supporting anecdotes of varying generalization that supported the thesis, it specifically addressed issues without resorting to ad hominem attacks, even when it quoted people directly. Nowadays, we're stuck with platitudes and pandering.
