meazza Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Brett Favre was in charge of Egypt? All those fourth quarter failed comebacks threw the country into revolt.
KD in CA Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Premire? Is that just a southern way of saying premier? Only on opening night.
erynthered Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 News alert!! Chris Matthews just had a tingle up his leg, and it created 500,000 new jobs!! It must be true!
UConn James Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Tom, is there a link for this report? I checked BBC right now, and there's nothing but a Breaking News bit that Mubarak saying to ABC News he "wants to resign immediately, but fears chaos" if he does. He also said he will never leave Egypt. Link Edited February 3, 2011 by UConn James
DC Tom Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Is there a link for this report? I checked BBC right now, and there's nothing but a Breaking News bit that Mubarak says he "wants to resign immediately, but fears chaos" if he does. Nope. Like I said, I got it off a report on a couple of twitter feeds, take it for what it's worth.
yall Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 This report doesn't appear to be true just yet. Think it might be a misrepresentation of some comments made to Ammanpour earlier...
whateverdude Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 This report doesn't appear to be true just yet. Think it might be a misrepresentation of some comments made to Ammanpour earlier... yeah, pro Mubarak forces are beating down press people, so it's not over yet.
IDBillzFan Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 yeah, pro Mubarak forces are beating down press people, so it's not over yet. I heard they were beating down Anderson Cooper, too!
GG Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I'M NOT ASKIN' YA WHO RUNS CHINA! When they sign the Presidential checks, who's name is on it? Hu
whateverdude Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I heard they were beating down Anderson Cooper, too! yeah they apologized to him after they saw his show.
Chef Jim Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I heard they were beating down Anderson Cooper, too! I saw that yesterday. That made my day!
/dev/null Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Nope. Like I said, I got it off a report on a couple of twitter feeds, take it for what it's worth. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Mubarak pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Nanker Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I won't believe it until I hear it from John Clayton. I'm waiting for Bill Nye to discover the pyramids are responsible for global warming and it was the construction of Hosni's pyramid over the last 30 years that tipped the world off its axis.
Frit0 Bandit0 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 It's on now, Egypt's in chaos ..."crouched behind abandoned trucks they pummeled each other with hurled chunks of concrete and bottles."
Nanker Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Mubarak resigns as head of ruling party. Well, maybe not.
Peace Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Third-hand report from two different twitter feeds...albiet one of the BBC. So take it for what it's worth. You were bound to be right on this eventually!
DC Tom Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 You were bound to be right on this eventually! No...there was a not insignificant chance he'd be killed in a coup.
GG Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 You were bound to be right on this eventually! Or maybe not (WSJ) "The fate of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak remains in the balance as initial reports saying the embattled leader is expected to announce he will step aside were denied later Thursday by the country's Information Minister, adding to the uncertainty as thousands are gathering in central Cairo's Tahrir Square." Added the information minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, "We cannot ascertain for certain if Generalissimo Franco is in fact still dead."
