Greg de'Ville Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 ...the "Pittsburgh Rules" state, in part, that if an opposing DB even breathes on a Steeler WR, out goes the hanky. Dog-Ass Jets got a major hosing in the first half at the Mustard Sunday. Some dubious illegal contact/PI calls. The holding call on Becht that wiped out a sizable gain by Jordan was also suspect. Herm did well not to blow up at Bonnie B. with the quickie halftime interview, although I could tell he was steamed. Granted, the Steelers are good (defense especially so), but they don't need that extra "help" from the striped shirts. Let the players decide the outcome. If it's incidental contact on pass plays and both players are going for the ball, let it go, no penalty. We've seen this kind of officiating before, especially in Foxhole (The "Patsie Rules"). When a team's going good, the preponderance of the calls--deserved or not--are going to go its way. And if a team's not, well...
