Peace
Yes Bill. A game is set up to be fair. Life doesn't have absurd arbitrary rules like that though.

Buftex
Take your blinders off and answer this. Did you really think that **** was funny? Chef, yeah, I thought it was funny, in a way that makes you think...maybe it went over your head? Did you even watch it? This isn't a Georg Carlin "football vs baseball" bit. It should also be clarified, the graphics were added by whoever posted this on youtube, and were not in Mahers original editorial. It is painfully evident, from the responses here, none of you watched/listened to it, as nothing you have commented on has anything to do with the content of the video...you don't like Bill Maher, so you can't even watch, or listen...but you can criticize... Anyways Chef, you telling someone to take their blinders off is rich! Edited January 30, 2011 by Buftex

Anyways Chef, you telling someone to take their blinders off is rich! I dont have to watch it...becuase I have been watching Bill Maher for over a decade. I was a disciple of his from back when he actually WAS fair to both sides, on Politically Incorrect. Then I followed him to HBO for years. I decided to abandon him when he lectured Americans on its "gluttony" one night. Im sorry, Im NOT going to be lectured about gluttony from a clown who spends every weekend at the !@#$ing BASECAMP of gluttony...the Playboy Mansion and Hollywood, at large. He then lurched HARD left and took a militant "ALL Republicans are eeeviiil!!...ALL the faithful are rubes" tact, while again showing utter hypocrisy on the subject by labeling the right and the faithful "intolerant and bigoted." So yes...insufferable, hypocritical prick. Excuse me for not taking seriously a schumck who ADMITS he got his political religion from celebrity cocktail parties. And by the way....the Pirates ADMITTED they dont put the money back into the club and the Yankees pay the MLB luxury tax. So chalk this as another half-assed commentary by Maher. DC Tom
Chef, yeah, I thought it was funny, in a way that makes you think...maybe it went over your head? Anyone who finds Bill Maher funny is either high or mentally deranged. Either way, you need help. But he does have a point here...the NFL is very socialist, right down to the elite class (the Patriots) not being bound by the rules, the vast majority struggling to get by, and exile in the Siberia of Buffalo, Cleveland, and Oakland. Buftex
Dude...if you dont want responses, then dont !@#$ing post. I laugh, because your response was ridiculous. You say you didn't watch the video (because you don't "need to"), and it is obvious that you don't watch Maher, or listen to him enough to come up with the response you gave. It was silly for you to respond, because your response is not to the message, but merely the messenger. The circle-jerkers here (you amongst them) normally have a field day with responses like yours. You, in this instance, are like the cliche of the guy who goes into any thread mentioning Howard Stern, and says how much you loath him, yet admit you don't listen to him. Maher is much more balanced in his criticism than you make him out to be, and, in fact, has come under quite a bit of heat from left-leaners, for being to critical of Obama...if he hurt your feelings when you used to follow him, it only furthers his argument, as much as the right criticizes the left for being "pussies" (we see it all the time here, no TSW), they sure get their panties in a wad over silly symbolic things pretty easily. If the vast majority were struggling to get by, Buffalo, Cleveland and Oakland would have stopped having teams, long ago. His point was, in equaling the revenue sharing for the league, all 32 teams can survive (although Jerry Jones and his ilk would love to see that change), and television, and league revenues dwarf those of "America's game", baseball, where viewers are tuning out quickly. If you don't let everyone compete, after awhile, they don't care anymore...the Yankees GM, just this week, accused the Rangers of relying on "welfare" for the way they handled the dealings with Cliff Lee. I suspect there are quite a few here, who hate the Yankees because the "buy championships"...the irony is just funny to me. Yes, he criticizes both neo-cons AND Tea Partiers... He must have hurt your feelings too...

Probably the only thing I love about the Yankees is that they "buy" championships. See what you call buy I call an investment. It's what smart wealthy people do. Unfortunately our Bills are owned by a dumb wealthy person.
Peace
Hey But, maybe you haven't noticed but you're vehemently defending a former stand up comic who thinks that socialism will work in real life because it works in football. Think about that for a second. Is that really a position you endorse?
