After reading the recaps of the Senior Bowl, and the scouting for the week, and thinking about our team, I believe the best move in this year's draft would be:

1. Quinn, (some other OLB candidate that will be able to get pressure on QB's - a trade down a few spots to land one of these guys would be even better).

2. Phil Taylor - is there an alternative with equal talent who can clog the middle? I think Edwards has now seen what his schemes can look like (sure, vanilla and all things considered) but, it is still so, so, so much easier to run a defense when the NT (3-4) or DT's (4-3) are stopping the running game up the middle all by themselves. In fact, almost all the great Defenses have this quality, and, as much as K. Williams is great, he'll never be able to do this - and we'll have to compensate somehow for that without the big guy.

Rounds 3-4's QB, LB, TE

After that, BPA

Who knows how it will turn out, but, I think if we could stop the run with the big fella, and add some more pressure - then our secondary will be fine - those great secondaries are nice to have, but I think you work out to them from the lines. And, I think we can fix most of our offensive problems in F.A. - like a RT and even a TE. So, go QB in the draft and all D.

I agree. I almost always suggest BPA, but two comprably rated players edge goes to position of need. I would love to draft Robert Quinn or Von Miller with our first pick, and Taylor in the second. And like you, I would love it if we could trade down a few spots, and still land one of those two. If we wanted to trade down furthur I also really like Cameron Heyward. I too would prioritze TE, LB, and QB in rounds 3 and 40- so I love your draft for the Bills!

Miller is too light for us right now. And someone mentioned ability to stop the run? Fast in space and looks for the play well i suppose but if an off lineman gets his hand on him...That is one of our glaring problems/shedding blocks.

Sure he will be great for the right situation. not us not now.

Go big Buddy and make em pass.

Robert Quinn is hands down a better pick than Von Miller. Quinn is an absolutely FREAK athlete! Everyone forgets that because he did not play last season. Furthermore, we have the third pick in the draft. Von Miller does not have the size to be a 3rd overall pick at outside linebacker. While he may be very good, he is going to be a situational player in the NFL. That is not something you take with the 3rd overall pick. You have a guy on the board who is 6'5 and 270 lbs with amazing pass rushing ability on the board. In my opinion, you dont roll the dice on an undersized OLB, especially at pick 3.

Quinn and Green are probably the two best players in this draft. Fairley and Dareous are difference makers. And Von Miller is one helluva football player with immeasurables off the chart. He might make the most immediate difference for us. I am not sold on Peterson or Prince. Neither has shown me the game changing abilitys of the aforementioned. Scouts drool over Peterson's size. Give me Von Millers production over Peterson's potential any day of the week

I'll take Miller. Quinn has not played in a long time. He would have to light up the combine to be drafted at #3. I am thinking that a very good offensive tackle prospect might drop to us in the second round. The Ot's did not do well at the senior bowl. If not a right tackle in the second then another linebacker.

Its a real shame this year with such a great draft pick that there is no Jake Long, Joe Thomas, Walter Jones type left tackles in this draft. With that being said, I wouldnt mind seeing if we can grab one in free agency. This way we can really focus on the defense in this year's draft. I would still love a QB, but we have a lot of holes!

I saw Von Miller interviewed.... He told the reporter he is currently 233 lbs. He started the season at 243 and lost weight to 237 during the season...He also said it would not be hard for him to gain weight to 245 lbs when the combined started. He is an exceptional talent when rushing the QB. He can cover RBs out of the back field with his speed and intelligence. He will be very good in the NFL at OLB. But do the Bills need another OLB?

I would rather the Bills draft OT Solder who played very well for the North in the Senior Bowl. He is big and athletic. A Quality right tackle added to our offensive line would actually fix the O-line for years to come.

The draft is loaded with D-linemen and the Bills can get a quality MLB along with a QB in the draft if needed. I would rather see them get a backup QB in free agency and use the picks in the draft for more talent.

Quinn i feel would be the more all-around player right now..not to say that Von Miller couldn't tear it up on a team like the Jets...but Miller would be overpowered playing on the Bills with little help around him. i would go with quinn.

The people say that miller is "bad" at stopping the run are a little off base. He wasn't a good run stopper in college because he was never in a position to stop the run. He was rushing the passer 90% of tue time. If you watched him in the senior bowl, he was playing 4-3 olb and did a pretty dam good job stopping the run. With practice and putting on a little weight, he'd be fine IMO. He has the speed and height to cover te's, god knows we need someone that can do that. Hes a special player. Too many people can't stand the thought of drafting another maybin....he's NOT maybin. No where near him

You don't think the bills need another olb? Lol. Cuz moats and merriman are definitely gonna be good right? I think we are better off at ilb (if we resign poz) with poz and Davis than olb with moats and merriman

Also, i wasn't very impressed with solder at te senior bowl. He looked REALlY bad on a couple plays against Sam acho. If we drafted solder #3 I'd be more shocked than when we took whitner

The reason I see Quinn as such a great pick is that his size and athleticism allow him to play a 3-4 OLB, and also 4-3 end (as we will be switching sets quite often this season). Von Miller will not give you an effective 4-3 defensive end. If we had our usual number 9-15 pick I would say take a chance on Von Miller, but at #3 that would be the most ridiculous pick in a while. Also, someone mentioned Nate Solder, he isn't even a top 25 prospect so I really hope you meant in the 2nd round. At number 3, he would be this year's Mike Mitchell from the Raiders

After watching the senior Bowl and knowing that Gailey and Co coached him this past week i just have a feeling hes our pick. Pretty consistent performer at the college level and an immense talent. Its just a gut feeling but I feel pretty confident about it

What team have you been following the last 10 years?

What game did you watch yesterday? Soldier looked like a white Cornell Green out there.

It makes sense. Still think it's a toss up between Miller, Dareus or Peterson. (if fairley I'd off the board of course). The combine will clear things up a little more

I saw on the Buffalo Range that he weighed in at 6-3, 237. How will he be able to contribute on our defense?

Do you know how big 6'3 and 237lbs is? I have a friend that competes in the "strongest man" competitions. He

is incredibly big at 6'0" and 220lbs. I agree that I'd like a 250 pounder at OLB, but most 200 pounders can't move

like Von Miller, let alone anyone larger. He is incredibly quick and fast. IMHO, in the Senior Bowl he showed that

he can play run D, too. Yep, I'd like someone 6'4" 255 that could run like Miller, but there are VERY FEW of those

guys.

As for the comparisons with Maybin, Maybin has adequate to low lateral quickness and has only his speed rush

as a pass rusher. Miller looks to me like an ELITE athlete who has shown multiple pass rush moves over > 1 season

and can play the run, too.

I would prefer Bowers or Fairley (a little), but Miller looks great to me.

Good post. I think people get caught up a little too much with how much he weighs. Players' weights fluctuate constantly throughout the course of the season as well. The kid is legit, and has the resume to prove it (unlike another speed rusher on our team).

That was my impression as well, but it's difficult to decipher what he's saying half the time.

For those who believe Miller's too small, Clay Matthews was 240 coming out of college. I wouldn't get too hung up on that quite yet. He made a very subtle but important play I thought, when he was able to trip up Kaepernick, in space, short of the 1st down in the 3rd. Just showed me his ability to do things other then rush the passer. Kaepernick is blazing fast too.

Clay weighed in at 246 lbs at the 2009 Senior Bowl, so he was a good 9 lbs heavier than Von at this stage, and Clay was considered light at that weight to play OLB in the 3-4. He has since bulked up to 255 lbs and we obviously know how well he's fit in as an OLB.

Von Miller needs to put on a minimum of 15 lbs. to hold up in the NFL. At this moment in time he is too small for the 3-4. Can he pack on 15 lbs and keep his speed and athleticism? That's a question he needs to answer at the Combine. He blamed skipping meals and not eating enough at school for the reason he weighted in too light. I don't really buy it. In the end I think Von is a much better fit in a 4-3 despite 90% of the media saying he's a better fit in the 3-4.

If he comes in to the Combine weighing 243-247 and still looks the part I think a lot of 3-4 teams will be happy.

I actually think weight gets pushed to the side too much by fans when they see a player they like. There were serious concernes about Maybin's body structure and weight 2 years ago, and these concerns were very real. I'm not comparing Maybin to Miller directly, but they both have weight issues. At this point Von is a good fit for the 4-3, but he is very undersized for an OLB in the 3-4.

You make a good point about weight fluctuating during the season, but if you start the season weighing 255 and go down to 247 by seasons end that may work. If you start out at 237 and end the season at 230 you're going to be on IR or getting dominated by 300 lb OL, no question. You would think if Von Miller had the ability to carry an additional 10-15 lbs he would already be carrying it. I've seen his film, and I really like his pass rush ability, but you need to be stout against the run to play 3 downs in the NFL. At his current weight teams like the Pats, Jets and Phins will run all day at Von Miller, and I don't want another pass rush specialist with the #3 overall pick.

Pittsburgh's James Harrison is listed at 6'0" and 242lbs. I think Miller is already well in the neighborhood

of that and at 6'2+" might have a little more growth potential. I know that I wasn't completely filled out at

21 years old, perhaps Miller isn't either.

Like I said, he looks light. I know he's fast and tenacious. He's also light.

A little too light, IMHO. Can he pack on enough muscle without hurting his athleticism?

I don't think that it is accurate to say that Maybin's problem is that he weighs "only" 245-250lbs. His problem is that he has only 1 pass

rush move (wide and deep speed rush) and that he does not have good lateral quickness. Miller has multiple pass rush moves, has

elite quickness and has far more of a track record of production at the collegiate level than Maybin had.

In a 3-4 defense the pressure comes from the OLBers. What pressure did our 3-4 backers generate last year? And I am not sold on Merriman. We are not getting the Merriman of 5 years ago, and achilles injuries are very tough to overcome. Von Miller is adept at both stopping the run and rushing the passer. And I bet if we drafted Von Miller he would start from week one

Even if he's a 1st-rounder (and I think he is), he'll need some developmental time before he starts, and our defense doesn't have time for that. It needs help, now.

London Fletcher was an undrafted FA don't now what his weight was coming out of college but he is now 5' 10" at 245 lbs what has he done with his career ??

This kid is 6'3" & 237 . I would think with that frame he could put on say 10 to 15 lbs which would put him at say 255 lbs range . With the added height - 5" taller than what Fletcher is - to reask you the question "what might he be able to do for our defense" ???

But will that 10-15 lbs hurt his athleticism? If not, fine. If so, avoid him like the plague.
