short of his leg falling off, a franchise qb that you traded the house for, and paid, should be better then todd collins or a rookie even with a bum knee. this could be his once in a lifetime shot at the superbowl and he pulled himself. thats not normal, even if he is hurt. most qbs would need a trainer or coach to drag them off the field there. he seemed... indifferent. like he didnt really care one way or the other. it could be like the thread said the other day and he actually has social issues so he doesnt get what his body language was putting off but..... you have to admit that his behavior was not typical.

So, is a torn MCL enough of an excuse for him to come out of the game?

There are some new reports that are saying that it is a sprain which I think is the same as a minor tear in the MCL. I'll say this, I sprained my back playing football once and there is no way I could play football let alone walk properly.

drew brees didnt miss a single snap with a partially torn mcl this year -- so thats not definitive as a measure of in vs out.

also, its not just the injury, its acting like a kid whos parent took away their ice cream on the sideline. if he cant play his job is still to do everything he can to win the superbowl. in that situation you need to coach, cheerlead, or go get treatment.

im not saying he had to play but that the entirety of the situation was VERY poorly handled. and he was the main reason. your franchise qb should not leave your franchise where the bears are sitting today. ever.

thats exactly what a sprain is. and a lot of guys play with it. even if you agree with him coming out, you have to see that the situation was handled beyond poorly by him, the coaches and the training staff.

even pulling collins with one minute in the third - what if hanie gets hurt on the first play -- you just shelved your entire qb stable. the team needs to share in the criticism of how it was handled, but lets be honest even in the best case for cutler, he disappointed.
