Chandler#81 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hey! I called for PLAYOFFS! 1 step at a time
CTBillsGuy Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I'm not sure, but I think his name is Worststache, but whatever it is this is a good addition
Fixxxer Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Our defense just got better and I like it very much. I don't care much for titles, the important thing is that Wanny met with the defensive staff and he thought he could give a helping hand to a unit desperately in need of one.
cåblelady Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hey! I called for PLAYOFFS! 1 step at a time OK. OK. Ur a close 2nd.
billsfan89 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 A good move if Gailey really wants to keep George Edwards then he needed to bring in a veteran coach to help him along. Wanny is a veteran coach who is probably going to be the defacto DC while Edwards continues to learn and build upon what he did last season (Hey you can learn a lot from failure).
DevilsAlum Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Just got the text from the Bills- It's official!
Jamie Nails Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 It says Head coach/inside linebackers??? I get it, but they probably should have thrown and ass. in front of the head coach in the text.

3rdand12 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 OK. OK. Ur a close 2nd. I say we split the winnings and i buy us each a beer?
Nasty Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Something tells me he will be responsible for the overall defensive scheme ala Gailey on Offense. Like Modkins, Edwards may just have the title of coordinator. If he is overall in charge of the defensive scheme then we would be going back to a 4-3 which is what he has coached his whole career. I still believe we will be running a 3-4 and I really wish we can go after another coach that can help us out in Mangini probably too late now but he would be awesome as DC but he too would want to be Asst. Head coach. I still love this move also. Good Job Nix.
DrFishfinder Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Well count me as one who thinks this is bad karma. Name one, ONE ex-Dolphin player or coach (George Edwards, anyone?) who has been beneficial for the Bills. I'm waiting......tap, tap, tap, tap, tap........
John from Riverside Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 and now it will be interest to see where that top pick goes. I still thinks a DL....I wonder if its Darius or Bowers. To me that will say a lot about what direction the defense is going. If Bowers is a pass rush stud then 4-3 might be the way to go....and both Troupe and Carrington can play in a 4-3

Big Turk Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I was so excited when I heard this news while out driving around this morning I was calling everyone I knew that was a Bills fan! Wannstedt is a VERY good DC, and I am pretty sure Edwards sees the writing on the wall... The key to succeeding in any business, football or otherwise, is to surround yourself with enough good people...
Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Per Alex Marves - Wannstedt has agreed to become asst HC and def asst w/Bills Best coaching staff news I could expect to hear all things considered We will have to trust to Chan's management skills to keep lines of responsibility and communication clear and avoid any downside
Slack_in_MA Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Any interesting free agents with ties to Wanny?
SoulMan Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Wait......I think that was a feeling of optimism. Nah, couldn't be...next thing you know we'll have an NFL style left tackle !
Geno Smith's Arm Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Working with this defense will be a lot more difficult that working with a defense as loaded with high picks as the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys. Wannstadt blew as a head coach.
