May Day 10 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 this is awesome IMO. I really liked what he did at Pitt for the most part. He is the kind of blood we need coaching this team. Nice job, Bills
1B4IDie Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 It's a layered backup plan. You don't put an employee on notice in a high demand position unless you have a replacement ready. They're giving Edwards a chance to perform, giving him additional assistance with Wanstache and if he still fails they can let him go and the 'Stache can be Do-Co. I like the move.
mrags Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 If this is true, I love this. Wanny is a great pull for us.
Golden Wheels Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Can't argue with the success he had with the Cowboys' defense.
ShipUPride Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I think is a great addition. His experience aside, this tells me the Bills are serious about getting better!
bananathumb Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Now all we need is four linebackers worth coaching.
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Great move. I would like him to be def coordinator though.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 AWESOME! Not only is it good to see Nix and Gailey making moves, but this is a very good move to boot.
Gugny Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Excellent move. And what's equally as cool ... he chose Buffalo over other teams. Another step in the right direction.
FLFan Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 This is a great move. Well done Buddy and Chan!
Heels20X6 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Did the Bills FO just make a great move?!? Has the whole world gone topsy-turvy!?!?
Buftex Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Great move. I would like him to be def coordinator though. You have to wonder if that is not in the offing...
Red Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 This is really cool news. One of the biggest things fans were critical of the Bills for this past offseason was not getting the high profile head coach and staff. Looking back, and especially looking at what I believe to be our mirror image franchise of the past decade- the Washington Redskins- who went for the high profile GM and head coach, their success was eerily similar to ours. Rebuilding takes time, fellas, no matter what name is attached where. Heck, Parcells never truly rebuilt Dallas nor Miami. Even the Tuna has seemingly lost his luster. I was never as critical of the Gailey pick as some, and still believe that, he, his staff, Nix, and Whaley are excellent hires. Adding Wannstadt to the mix further solidifies my belief. GO BILLS!
1billsfan Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Now all we need is four linebackers worth coaching. Merriman, Greg Jones ILB MICH ST (2nd rd), Poz, Moats add in 1st pick Fairley or Dareus = come get some!
