I would take group #1 if it materialized the way you listed. But I just don't see how Gabbert is going to last until the second round. Maybe Locker might be there? When picking a qb prospect I give great value to a qb's accuracy. From what has been reported Gabbert has it over Locker.

As far as taking a qb with a low round pick I don't see the point of it. As far as my view on Ponder he is a competent qb with little upside. He reminds me of the Orton caliber of qb.

Assuming Fitzy is going to be the stopgap QB, I would go with draft A. If the switch to the 34 is permanent, they're going to need more at linebacker. DL is important but as Pittsburgh has shown, having versatile linebackers who can shoot gaps, scrape at the line of scrimmage and still rush from a three point stance is how the "prototypical" 34 alignment should be run.

At some point though, they're going to have to draft a QB.

I'd like a little of each,

1 Dareus

2 Wilson

3 Beal

4 Stocker

4 Matthews

5 Ziemba

6 Clay

7 Blanc

If Florence isn't resigned or a comparable CB isn't signed in free agency it's my opinion that they're going to need to take a CB somewhere in the first 4 rounds.

Would you throw a brick at the TV if it were Peterson in RD#1?

Yeahhh. A TE in round number 4. That has really worked out in last few years

No, I actually think that is the most likely scenario. Esp with them using 2 of their top 3 picks on DL last year, having Kyle Williams there, and signing Dwan Edwards. Ideally, with their top 3 picks, I'd like to see them come away with a CB to compete for one of the top 3 spots with McKelvin and McGee, an ILB to compete/beat out Davis, and an OLB to compete/beat out Kelsay.

Is it possible to get a difference maker at TE in the 4th round?

Haven't they done this before?

If the Bills let Florence and Whitner walk and then have to waste their #1 pick on a hopeful replacement, that would be a sign that the Bills are just going to dwell at the bottom of the league as usual. You don't build a winner by constantly trying to replace your few good players because they leave. You need to keep them so you can build up talent at other positions. Frankly, I'd rather see Green than Peterson, but really if the the Bills don't go DL or QB with the top pick, I'll be disappointed.

What if they use the free resources to sign a D-lineman (Solai? Mebane?) and draft Peterson at #3?

Peterson is OVER-RATED!

Taking a DB in the top 10 is stoopid. The Redskins do it every other year. Let's not be like the Redskins.

Agreed that a lot hinges on what they decide to do with Drayton Florence. If they let him walk, we are left with a huge hole in the secondary. McGee is oft-injured, surely on the down slope of his career. McLovin shows huge potential at times, but is too inconsistent and makes too many mistakes to be our "shut-down" guy. Youbody, Corner, and the rest....who knows.

Morale of the story....make sure to re-sign Florence. If not, Peterson may be a decent choice in round one (IF he makes it past Denver).
