San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Would you settle for a Fijian? BTW, before the guys you've listed their were Polynesians like Mosi Tatupu, Manu Tuiasosopo, and a bunch of others. They do seem to grow em big on those islands. Must be the poi.
The Cincinnati Kid Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Been thinking this for years. They are good footballers with a nasty streak. I want one, or fifty-three...
1B4IDie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 For real! Plus their names are fun to say. If only we drafted Haloti Ngata when we had our shot . . .
PromoTheRobot Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Those places have a long history with American football. They grow up playing, and yes they do grow 'em big. The women could play nose tackle. PTR Edited January 16, 2011 by PromoTheRobot

Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I need a Samoan!! Reminds me of a certain Family Guy episode
machinegun12 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 There was a 60 minutes report last year about football in Samoa. It was really an impoverished place and those kids grow up there thinking football is their way off the island. The equipment used by the high school teams are donated crap discarded by the mainland and wouldn't pass any sort of inspection here. Their economy depended on a cannery on the island that got shut down, and it really did look like a third world country. That being said, it really goes to show why they are so successful. Hard work and talent will take you a long way.
Dr. Trooth Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I don't care if they're samoan, mandarin, ubhangi, norwegian, siberian, or phillipino, as long as they are a quick, strong, fat slob that goes, say, 6'2" 345lbs.
sweatpantsjoe Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 And you can hit them over the head with a chair and it doesn't phase them.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Don't know if he is Samoan but Stephen Paea in the second would fit the bill: 6'2" 315
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Don't know if he is Samoan but Stephen Paea in the second would fit the bill: 6'2" 315 youtube.com/watch?v=laPi34hC6UU&feature=related He is Tongan (they said so in the video) and he's very impressive. He looks very much like Kyle Williams. Very good initial burst, very good leverage and anchor for his size. One-gap type player who plays in the opponents backfield. Almost a carbon copy of Williams.
T master Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 We had a chance at drafting Ngata and he even thought he was going to be drafted by the Bills but what ever brain child that was in charge of the pick that year should have lost there job over that one !!! Can you imagine with just a few different picks what this team would have should have could have been ???? Orapko - Ngata - Matthews ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
CarolinaBill Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 we drafted CJ ah You a few yrs back, he cut cut in camp if memory serves me correctly
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 He is Tongan (they said so in the video) and he's very impressive. He looks very much like Kyle Williams. Very good initial burst, very good leverage and anchor for his size. One-gap type player who plays in the opponents backfield. Almost a carbon copy of Williams. I always mute the sound so I can focus on their play
The Cincinnati Kid Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 They just have good football genes. We need a bunch...
The Senator Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Question: Does he have to be a native Samoan? (I mean, like right off the boat?) 'Cause I really like this guy with one of our two 4th round picks... Sione Fua, DT, Stanford Pronunciation: see-OWN-ay foo-AH
DDD Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I don't care if they're samoan, mandarin, ubhangi, norwegian, siberian, or phillipino, as long as they are a quick, strong, fat slob that goes, say, 6'2" 345lbs. Leif Larson was norwegian.
Bills!Win! Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Anyone remember Fuamatu-ma'afala from the Steelers? Was he a Samoan?
