Italy, Greece, Spain all look that way - apartments everywhere and no "real" houses. Probably a union walk out over company provided wine with lunch. But with the smog haze over the city I think it worked in the past. Do they hire their architects from box factory's? Well, in the two weeks we were in Europe, there was a train strike in Barcelona (for 4 hours), a garbage collection strike in Sicily, and a student protest in Athens. So you might be right! The 4000lb HC "cookie" was a British bomb, dropped from Lancs and Halibags (and Wimpeys for a short time). Normal bomb load for a B-17 was 8x500lb GP; largest bomb they carried was a 2000lb bomb.
