I'm reviewing the resumes of people, and I am Googling them at the same time.

And for one of the candidates (28-year-old female), I have found 2 online photos:

1. Standing at a bar, wearing a hot pink skimpy dress and holding a mai tai.

2. At the beach with friends wearing a white bikini and holding a daquiri.

BTW Irish with shoulder-length blond hair.

So does that put her in the "hire" or "not hire" category?

Don't answer that, you might get in trouble either way.

On a more serious note...I just googled myself.

I'm much more important than I thought I was, I also play basketball and am on public assistance in Pennsylvania.

Wow!!

Ya, no kidding...

Seriously...how do you post that story and not post links? :wallbash:

Of course, "hot pink skimpy dress" and "white bikini" don't mean she isn't built like a bulldozer...

A matter that could be easily cleared up with.... yep, you guessed it... links!

I'm not referring to the original poster but It would be stupid to judge based on those photos. But, I know that's how the corporate world works even though most of the people hiring have darker things to hide.

Seriously....wtf GBiD?? If you're not going to post them, at least send me the link on PM.

But I agree with your style. I also google every person before they are interviewed, and see where they live via google maps.

I agree. When I was at a startup, the strangest person being interviewed looked the most normal. The CEO walked him out to his car to make sure he got off the property.

Not bad.

Social media has really turned the world on its head. I don't subscribe to the Facebook / MySpace trend for this particular reason, and I think it is a waste of time. But, it definitely helps my companies revenue stream (more servers = more heat = more cooling).
