You act like Kelly didnt have drops too...you have to add back all of Kellys drops to if you are going to do it for Fitz...again, like I already said, the average number of drops for Fitz vs Kelly, or any of todays QB's isnt much different. They all have it happen at a very similar rate and yet all complete more passes than him by a significant marging. And 2% considering the era Kelly played in his HUGE. If Kelly played today, his completion % would be much higher than it was back then given all the rule changes to encourage better passing attacks since Kelly retired.

Are you saying this topic is absurd or my post? You replied to my post which was essentially saying what you appear to be saying...

My bad, i wasnt knocking your post, just trying to add my thoughts. Your post just happen the one i hit reply to.

This topic is absurd, don't look at Kellys #s look at his ranks and then looks at Fitz's, that tells you all you need to know about this.

As much as I love the guy, I never thought Kelly was in the same class as Elway and Marino and Montana. In fact, I remember thinking at times it would be nice to see Frank Reich take over for the second half. Personally, I think Andre Reed is more deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame than Jimbo is. But he's still better than Fitzpatrick.

Actually I think that was one of Kelly's weaknesses, he tried to do too much. I've said it for the past 20 years, in the first SB agaisnt the Giants, if Kelly had given the ball more to Thomas, I'm certain we'd have won that one.

Not sure that I agree that they would have won the Super Bowl if Kelly gave the ball to Thomas more. I mean, Thomas had close to 200 yrds all purpose in that game. Thomas was also robbed of the MVP award for that SB. Something he deserved win or lose. The reason the Bills lost that game is because of the poor tackling on 3rd downs on the game winning TD drive by the Giants. Or was it a drive for a field goal? Anyways, the better team did not win that game. And the best player didn't receive the MVP award.

That is totally ridiculous and untrue. The two most important numbers for a QB are Wins and completion percentage. Kelly absolutely crushes Fitz in both those categories regardless of where they were drafted. the difference between %58 completion percentage and %60 is HUGE. And in his prime years, Kelly was well over %60 -- something Fitz has yet to accomplish.

I don't think I'm up for comparing Kelly and Fitz. That said:

1) over on another thread, I'm being told (by a different poster) that a change in completion percentage of 2.5% is not significant. Y'all make up your minds, now.

2) Kelly's completion % his first 4 years in the league was 59.2%. This is coming into each season as the starter, taking all the reps etc.

Fitz completion % is 57.8%. That's different by 1.4%. That significant, or not? Y'all make up your minds now.
