shake down the thunder Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 He seems to bounce from team to team and did an adequate job last season in Oakland in the backup role. If not Mirer, perhaps Ron Powlus, Jarious Jackson or maybe we could even lure Steve Beuerlein out of retirement. Hell, how about Theismann or Montana? No, but seriously, what about Rick Mirer?

Maybe he could get something out of the Indiana kid that noone else has been able to..Also wasn't Mirer #2 the year Drew was #1...gosh the universe may implode.....

And, a hell of a senior year it was for Mirer. He did, indeed, then enter the draft and go #2 overall behind only Bledsoe. There are some connections there.
swede316 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Yep...Detroit http://www.ourlads.com/secure/depthchart.cfm?index1=det
Pete Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Mirer sucked 10 years ago and he still sucks. Rick Mirer?
kasper13 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Look, all available 3rd and 4th QB's pretty much SUCK. That's why they are available or will be available soon. Nobody expects some has-been or never was to come in here and unseat Bledsoe and start winning games because he was just reincarnated as 1980's Joe Montana. All the Bills need is someone to stand on the sidelines and be ready to handoff 40 times if Bledsoe gets hurt. It's senseless to debate which 3rd string QB sucks more. They all do.

Tux of Borg Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Rick Mirer... i guess we could bring him in to run the triple option with Henry and McGahee.
MDH Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Rick Mirer would be a GREAT pickup...the day the NFL legalizes the bounce pass.

ExiledInIllinois Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Would that be the first time that a #1 and #2 draft choices played together? Has it ever happened? Like a poster said earlier... The universe would surely implode...

The universe would surely implode... 11432 Wondered the same thing They weren't #1 & #2 but former 1st rounders Tony Eason & Ken O'Brien were with the jests one year. The Colts should look at bringing Ryan Leaf in to backup Peyton
/dev/null Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Would that be the first time that a #1 and #2 draft choices played together? Has it ever happened? 11432 i recall the colts having the #1 and #2 picks in the same year, DE Steve Entman and LB Quenton Correyot. Yeah, household names. But then they were the early 90s Colts speaking of the Colts, wouldn't it be ironic if they signed Ryan Leaf, or if Philly picked up Tim Couch
Tom Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I wonder what Ryan Leaf does these days....... Maybe he hangs around with Todd Marinovich?
