\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I have a music CD that has a small scratch/blemish/whatever. There are 11 tracks on the CD, and track 4 will play only halfway through before the drive freezes. The other tracks play fine. I have tried to burn/copy the CD, and the process gets held up on track 4. The other 10 tracks burn/copy fine. Any ideas for making track 4 playable?
RayFinkle Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Buff the CD with some Armor All....yes I'm serious.

/dev/null Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 More details needed - I spray Armor All on the CD, then what do I do? Sacrifice a goat to the great overlord Xenu and pray west facing towards Mecca. Oh, and don't rub in circles or you'll just scratch it more. Start at the center and buff your way to the edge

Why don't you just burn another cd and leave out track 4? guess I missed the "making track 4 playable" part. Edited January 6, 2011 by thebug

Seriously...not for the faint of heart, but if you do it just right, you can melt the plastic surface of the CD and fill the scratch without damaging the metal interior.
KD in CA Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 More details needed - I spray Armor All on the CD, then what do I do? wax-on, wax-off duh.

WVUFootball29 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Armour All or any type of carnuba wax should do the trick. Just give it a good buffing as the others have said.
DC Tom Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 And I know you have done this... Tried it. Always leave scorch marks. There's a trick to it I haven't quite mastered.
