RealityCheck Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 The thing that I like about this is that if he can be at least 90% of what he was, it would be a tremendous upgrade to the D.
Big Turk Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Sounds like a lots of other FAs or players who think Buffalo is a wasteland, but then come to really like it once they spend some time there. thats why so many of them still live here after their playing days are over...
Big Turk Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) According to what Merriman says on the show he is the one who told the Bills he wanted to be part of the team going forward...he seems to be pretty high on them saying they just need a few more players in place and they can make some noise... Also gave props to Bills training staff and said they told him a lot of things he didn't know about the problem with his achilles strain...said he has had it for about a year and they finally figured out what the real problem was...said he couldn't push off his foot because of the injury and lost a lot of his explosion... Doc Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 He did make an effort to sign him...cowart and/or his agent never got it worked out. There were better sources than this, but this is what I found on short notice while at work: http://www.billsdaily.com/news/archives/2001/week10.html Yeah, I remember them offering him a contract that protected them heavily should he continue to not look like he did before his injury (tiered bonuses, heavy on the incentives, etc.). The Jets jumped in with a pretty generous contract.
