Virgil Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Many people on here are fans and I hear many great things about his arm. However, I also hear the guy likes to throw a lot of interceptions when under pressure. And since we know he won't get any pressure in Buffalo, I have no concerns at all about that But in all seriousness. I don't think we will get Luck, if only because good things like that don't happen to the Bills and we have an owner who won't pull the trigger on the necessary steps to get him. With that, I'd be down for a trade back and using a later first on Mallet, if he is what people think he is. I'm going to watch this game as open minded as possible.
zow2 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Well, that first throw by Mallett was a thing of beauty. Too bad it was dropped. I love Fitz but he does not have that kind of velocity on a rope 35 yards down the middle of the field like that.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 The first 3 throws hit the Receivers right in the hands. All dropped. That first pass was SHARP!
marauderswr80 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 he shoulda had a TD his first throw which was a dart about 30 plus down field but his WR dropped it. But man the kid is huge! I'd love to have Luck and all..... but my second choice would have to be Mallett or Newton...
KD in CA Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 The first 3 throws hit the Receivers right in the hands. All dropped. Throwing to Steve Johnson should be a smooth transition.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Throwing to Steve Johnson should be a smooth transition. Same joke I made. I also included that their line allows pressure with a 3 man rush as well. Edited January 5, 2011 by DrDankenstein
Beerball Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Throwing to Steve Johnson should be a smooth transition. Too true! Damn, that ball sure does bounce funny, doesn't it? Two out of the ordinary TDs!
marauderswr80 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 money throw by Mallett for that TD.......what a cannon for an arm!
Virgil Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 So far, I'm fairly impressed. Def like him over Locker and Newton. Just two drives, but dude is huge has an absolute cannon. Accuracy has been strong too. Looking forward to watching more. Can he run the ball at all? Holy ****, just threw a great td while I typed this. Dude is playing out of his mind right now. And those are all throws that are NFL throws
marauderswr80 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 that fade is one of the toughest throws to make and that was money!

But he can move around, he slides well, and is good and running just enough for someone to get open. Kinda like Big Ben or Jim Kelly (in the mobility dept only).
zow2 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Dude has been doing this for a few years against the very best competition in the nation. He's got IT. He's gonna be a very good NFL QB. No doubt he will get drafted in the #3 - #10 slot in round 1 (assuming he and Luck both come out).
marauderswr80 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 any reason they won't come out? I always thought it would be a great rule that college kids had to stay in school all 4 years. That's just me idk.....

There are concerns regarding his work ethic and rumors swirling around that Mallett absolutely hates watching game film
KD in CA Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 There are concerns regarding his work ethic and rumors swirling around that Mallett absolutely hates watching game film Any idea the source of the rumors? I don't put much stock in unfounded stuff, but would hate to draft Billy Jo Hobart at #3.
Bangarang Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Any idea the source of the rumors? I don't put much stock in unfounded stuff, but would hate to draft Billy Jo Hobart at #3. That came from an NFL scout I believe. Not exactly sure where I read this but know that I did. The rumor is obviously not confirmed. But the fact, that a rumor like that exists, is still off putting. 808 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 hes got a better arm than luck and got really good touch. its gonna be the interview and combine that make his stock rise or fall. his arm is silly good.
Virgil Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 It's funny, I'm watching him on the sidelines and looked up some videos of him and can't help but thinking that he looks like a cocky little ****. I'm curious to watch some interviews and get some personality insight on him. I don't want this dude screaming at his teammates on an interview halfway through the season...
BuffaloBillsSD Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 There are concerns regarding his work ethic and rumors swirling around that Mallett absolutely hates watching game film Hating watching game film is a deal breaker but the Bills should be able to figure out if it's true or not in the interviews.
Virgil Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 I just looked up some interviews and think he will give Vince Young a run for his money on the wonderlic
