ReturnoftheBuffaloBeast23 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 We can trade a few of our previous first round picks to trade up with Carolina to get Luck. We can throw in McCargo, Maybin and Spiller to trade up. "BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE"... (and I mean that in the most sarcastic way imaginable)
Bills99999 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It doesn't matter because the for a 1st round pick, the Bills will pick somebody who is on NOBODY's radar
Buffan00 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It doesn't matter because the for a 1st round pick, the Bills will pick somebody who is on NOBODY's radar I think this year they get it right!! We see that Chan isnt conventional in picking Spiller. So anything is possible!!!
akm0404 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It doesn't matter because the for a 1st round pick, the Bills will pick somebody who is on NOBODY's radar Just like when they drafted Reggie Corner, and the commentators had no clue who he was because he wasn't in their packet of the top 300 draft-eligible players, so they just spent a minute riffing on how crazy it is that his name is Corner, and he is a CORNER!
Special K Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think this year they get it right!! We see that Chan isnt conventional in picking Spiller. So anything is possible!!! As an offensive-minded coach, I wouldn't be surprised if Chan will want to draft WR A.J. Green with the #3 pick. Wether or not this would happen is up for debate, but it wouldn't totally shock me if Green is the pick.
marsadale Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What if both Carolina and Denver are late getting their picks in to the Commish? Do you think the Bills would have a shot at drafting Luck? Noone's drafting Luck. He's choosing another year of Stanford ****y over being top dog in the draft. What would YOU do?
DDD Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) We can trade a few of our previous first round picks to trade up with Carolina to get Luck. We can throw in McCargo, Maybin and Spiller to trade up. Throw in Brian Brohm and Ashton Yoboty too. I'm sure that is an offer Carolina couldn't refuse. I think this year they get it right!! We see that Chan isnt conventional in picking Spiller. So anything is possible!!! unconventional = dumbass. Edited January 5, 2011 by Mr. Wonderful

We have so many other pressing needs and WR (with Steve Johnson and Lee Evans) is FAR from our biggest. They may not be all-world, but we really need to build up our D.
PDaDdy Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Didn't this happen in San Diego w/ Brees and Rivers. SD drafts Rivers. Brees had carrear year, got traded. Both teams ended up ok in the end w/ great QB's. The team that let got the promising rookie(Rivers) and let the steadily improving veteran QB(Brees)go didn't get a ring. The team that got him(Brees) got the ring. That being said probably neither of our statements have anything to do with the Bills.
Dorkington Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Are you guys kidding me? New England has 2 First Round Picks - AND THE TOP SECOND ROUND PICK? - AGGGHHHHH!!!!! I haven't looked up the facts - but they probably have another second rounder, maybe a third or two... if they keep up like this, they'll be younger than the Bills in another couple of years, and still right on top. We've got to start building a team to win in this division. That's the difference between winners and losers. They are getting great picks while still good, we get meh picks while still bad.

Not to nitpick but Brees got franchised then got hurt in his last game as a charger and signed with the saints in the offseason Also, the Chargers didn't draft Rivers.
Whitey13 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 We can trade a few of our previous first round picks to trade up with Carolina to get Luck. We can throw in McCargo, Maybin and Spiller to trade up. People need to stop talking about giving away picks to get luck. With as many holes as we have we need every pick we can get.
Austin_Bills_Fan Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) I think the Bills may end up being fortunate that they got the third pick overall instead of the second pick. - If they aren't targeting the same player as the Broncos, they will still get their player - The player will cost less - We will have the second pick in the second round, at which point it is more valuable to pick ahead of Cincinnati and Denver because Buffalo will be able to take the best player available (which is obviously important for teams with many different holes). Now, if Carolina picks Luck and Denver picks Fairley, I guess my logic kind of goes out the window (if those are our targets). But if their heart is already set on someone like Bowers, Gabbert, Peterson, Newton, etc., they will get him. Totally agree. We will have a real good shot at drafting a defensive stud by having such a great draft pick. Luck will be gone by then so that will remove any temptation for Buddy to make a boneheaded move to draft a QB. Edited January 5, 2011 by Austin_Bills_Fan
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I'd rather pick #2 and not have to hope Denver picks someone else. Ralph has plenty of people protecting his wallet already.
