Love quibids have had a great experience with them and have found some really good deals. Once you learn what you are doing you can really get some great deals.

YES!!!! Finally someone who has used the site  I was really hoping at least one or two others had logged some time there. I'm assuming you've seen the same ridiculous (and sad) behavior by some of the bidders there that I have, and I completely agree that if you take the time to figure the site out, you can make out really well.

Do you focus on less exciting items like I do, or have you made a run at some of the bigger name stuff?

I understand...that's why I said in the original post that I"m not necessarily recommending the site. They sent me an email with a link for referring friends, and that's something people have done on TBD for as long as I can remember...everything from GoalLineBlitz to Netflix. Whether you sign up with the site directly or click on the link in my post, the sign-up process is the same...they just give the referring party a few extra bids to play around with for mentioning the site to others shoudl they decide to participate. Didn't see any harm in that, but if you found it offensive then I apologize.

:w00t: Damn right

I don't know why, but I never get tired of seeing debates from one thread spill over into other threads like they're some sort of tornado, haphazzardly making its way from locale to locale as it sees fit, lol. It's like those movies where two people are in a brawl, and then they cut from scene to scene as it carries on from the bar, to the street, to the neighbors house, etc.

It's almost like a game sometimes, cause I'll have not been on the board that day, but someone will make some obscure remark that seemingly makes no sense to me at all. Then I get caught up with the posts of the day and find that some new topic has been spilling over into almost every other thread. The other day, I was reading through my Foreman grill thread when Jim in Anchorage said something about grilling nothing but plain lentils. I was like, "wtf"?

If the Bills cut Donte Whitner, the penny auction sites will allow free bids from then on.

Guys, I need a little help with this one...

I saw this robot thing on quibids, and it didn't seem like anyone was bidding on it so I threw three bids out there. Much to my surprise, the auction ended and I won it for 34 cents lol. I don't really know much about it, other than the fact that my 9 y.o. niece loves robots and I figured she'd dig it. Looks like I got a pretty great deal on it, but do any of you guys have any knowledge of this??

It's called a "WowWee Femisapien Robosapien"

This one sort of just fell into my lap lol.

Thanks man, I appreciate that :) Some of those videos sort of freaked me out, but I'm sure my niece will have fun with this thing.

Just hit my 28-day limit by winning my 8th auction, so I'm done for a while. The last item I won was something I had my eye on the past couple of weeks. It's a really neat little gadget speaker that mates great with an iPhone, laptop, etc. Ended up paying $3 plus $6 shipping, and the item retails for around $42-49. I hate the sound on my laptop, so if the sound on this little thing is half as good as others have said it is, should make computer time more fun.

Here's a youtube link in case you guys, like me, have never heard of this:

I expect to have all these recent items here in-house in the next 7-10 days, so I'll report back to let you know if they all show up.

Yeah I've seen people waste so much money on bids they just burn on certain items its crazy. Kinda like the people who split Kings on the blackjack table.

So far I've gotten 2 copies of CoD Black Ops, 2 doz golf balls for next year, a pair of Spy sunglasses for my wife, and a 25 bid voucher for around $110 including my bid purchases and saved a grand retail value of over 200

The way I do it is, I find an item I'm willing to pay retail value for and buy just enough bids to cover the purchase cost using the buy it now feature and then bid til I win or have to buy it now. I use my remaining bids to grab other items that I know I can get for only a few bids

That's awesome, man...that sounds like a great approach to getting the most value out of the site. I'm all but expecting all the idiots with no restraint to ruin a good thing for the rest of us, but maybe I'm wrong. The more I use this site, the more I like it. As we've both discovered, there is very little risk to go with a lot of reward when you use your brain.

Recently I split a pair of jacks and then hit Ace Ace. That was kinda cool. But I will split 10, jacks, queens, kings, if the dealer is showing a 2,3,4,5,6 I figure they will bust out. Do you think that is good or bad logic?

I love that site...been learning from that guy for almost ten years

He's got a really good forum now at his companion site, wizardofvegas.com. Good community. If you ever want to discuss gambling with people, it's a good place to go. Everyone from Casino execs to former IGT employees to noob gamblers post there.

It all depends on the count, but in most situations I don't recommend it. Plus it won't win you many friends among the other players
