todd Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 We used to be able to count on him to perform like a pro-bowl punter both directionally and distance-wise. This year, it doesn't seem as if he's pinning people, and he's had lots of 30 yard punts. Anyone else see this or is it me? Could it be the influence of the new ST coach, or many his leg is dead from not having anyone to share the load with from training camp on? The Bills didn't bring in any kickers to help out, and it might be showing.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 seems like hes doing more directional and coverage punting but does seem to be struggling a little bit this year
GOBILLS78 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 He lost his mojo about two-and-a-half seasons ago.
West End Stench Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I completely agree about Moorman. He's been below average all season it seems like.
Malazan Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Maybe he just hasn't needed to be the best player on the team lately

The Bills didn't bring in any kickers to help out, and it might be showing. I can't figure out what the problem is. He shanked every punt today, and then cranks a 60 yarder at the end of the game. Were the 30-yard punts all game done on purpose? Was the wind a factor?
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I can't figure out what the problem is. He shanked every punt today, and then cranks a 60 yarder at the end of the game. Were the 30-yard punts all game done on purpose? Was the wind a factor? The wind was an issue... and it might be that he was going for height earlier in the game. When he just let it all hang out at the end, he showed that he still has the leg.

Mark Vader Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 The key is how the Bills are doing as a team. When the Bills suck, Moorman is an All-Pro. Now the Bills are starting to become an exciting team, which means Moorman is regressing.
Beerball Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Very poor day under ideal conditions. Two very short punts fielded within a yard of the 20 and the final one in the EZ. He's been not so spectacular this season.

It seems so what was with those little pooch punts that didn't even make it to the 20 yard line today why not just blast it in the endzone at least there would be no chance for a return then. Why the bother?
silvermike Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I think he's still got the power in his leg, but he's losing his aim a little.
BillsObserver Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Disappointed with Moorman as of late. He really stunk today until that last punt.
The Senator Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) Moorman got his mojo workin' when it counted - that 60-yard clutch punt (under a tremendous rush, BTW) in the last minute of Q4 lacked no mojo at all, IMHO. (Now 0-for-4 Miami Pro Bowler Dan Carpenter - there's a mojo-less kicker!) . Edited December 20, 2010 by The Senator
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Save saome money and pick up Rob Long from SU if he is healthy. Moorman has been below average all year and got old fast.
VirginiaMike Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Moorman has been disappointing most of this season. I'm not sure if he's done or not. I wonder if the fact that our coverage units are not as good as they were a couple of years back has caused him to try harder to place the ball rather than just kick it.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I've never been impressed with his directional kicking. Dont know if it's coaching or what, but he almost never kicks o.b. When in close.
bills44 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Save saome money and pick up Rob Long from SU if he is healthy. Moorman has been below average all year and got old fast. I read that Long's surgery went well. Not sure if he plans to continue playing football, though.
