Matt in KC Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Clint Malarchuk - sliced in the late 80's... has to be mentioned. I can't believe I didn't see it was hockey goalies until I almost posted. I was ready to throw out these others I remember watching: Mike Ramsey Mike Foligno Christian Ruuttu Uwe Krupp
MarkyMannn Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Grant Fuhr. What made him great was Oilers played no defense in front of him and he had to do it all. Of course the Oilers would score 7-8 goals a game
Alaska Darin Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Clint Malarchuk - sliced in the late 80's... has to be mentioned.I can't believe I didn't see it was hockey goalies until I almost posted. I was ready to throw out these others I remember watching: Mike Ramsey Mike Foligno Christian Ruuttu Uwe Krupp 156280[/snapback] I got to interview Clint when he was the coach of the Idaho Steelheads. Terrific guy. He was also responsible for on of the funniest moments I've ever witnessed. His team literally went "Oh for February" and that allowed us to catch them in the standings (long story). After one particularly heart breaking loss, one of the local guys who was writing for an internet hockey site asked him how it felt to lose to the worst team in pro hockey in such a way. The kid was like 17 years old. Clint went off and told him to take his "many colorful expletives" back to "more colorful expletives" high school. VERY funny in person. Of course, it was probably funnier to me because earlier in the season I had not so gently placed the same reporter in an arena garbage can for being a tool.
