KD in CA Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Other than Aaron Maybin, it's pretty hard to think of someone more useless than a ballet critic.
The Senator Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) Geez, anyone wonder what the odds are this guy's a flaming homosexual? (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) ALASTAIR MACAULAY Edited December 14, 2010 by The Senator
The Dean Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 We were discussing this very article yesterday at the beauty shop. I was getting my nuts waxed at the time... Seriously though, yesterday on NPT's Fresh Air, Terry Gross interviewed the author of Apollo's Angels. I didn't get to hear the entire interview, but the did discuss the size/body type of ballet dancers. I am not sure if it was in response to the NYT review. The author of the book, Jennifer Homans (a former professional ballet dancer) rejected the notion a ballet dancer needs to be a particular size to be outstanding. Perhaps Mr. Macaulay had a bit of sand in his vagina. I hear that can make a gal quite bitchy.
