bartshan-83
Link Interesting decisions: 1. Keeping the name Big Ten, but putting a fun new twist on the logo where they substitute the number 1 for the "I" in "BIG" 2. Seriously naming the two divisions "Leaders" and "Legends" 3. Creating a list of bizarre hyphenated-name trophies that are so numerous they would make a little league baseball team blush. KD in CA
"We decided to look to our history and our future" Boy, that's so profound! So do they change the names of the awards when someone better comes along than the random guy from the last ten years whose name they stuck there for now? bartshan-83
Boy, that's so profound! So do they change the names of the awards when someone better comes along than the random guy from the last ten years whose name they stuck there for now? Sorry, I have to go back to the logo for a second. Apparently I sold them waaay short. It's actually some sort of Hidden Image puzzle where things aren't what they seem. The designer explains it much better than a simpleton like me: "The new Big Ten logo was developed to symbolize the conference's future, as well as its rich heritage, strong tradition of competition, academic leadership, and passionate alumni," said Gericke. "Its contemporary collegiate lettering includes an embedded numeral "10" in the word "BIG," which allows fans to see "BIG" and "10" in a single word. Memorable and distinctive, the new logo evolved from the previous logo's use of negative space and is built on the conference's iconic name, without reference to the number of member institutions."
Ramius
Apparently the guys who designed the Bills jerseys and the sabres slug have found some new work. Everything about it...the logo, the design, the division names, the trophy names, is abhorrent. Leaders and Legends? WTF is that? On a positive note, i'm glad that there's finally a conference with worse division names than the ACC.
