The Poojer
good for charlie weis, i was worried that his health and his "non-notre dame" appearance would keep him from getting this deserving chance, i hope he and nd can succeed together! To say Charlie Weis has been offered and has accepted the ND head coaching job. They do not have confirmation from either the University or Weis. Mort just said on ESPN radio that Weis and ND are in negotiations but if the Dolphins called regarding their opening Weis would still listen. All reported FWIW.... 156021
Alaska Darin
Latest report from Mort: ND and Weis are negotiating. Clements has been told he's no longer a candidate. 156080 Thanks Brad.
njsue
PHEWWWWWWWW! Glad weis is going. Looks like a new system for Marsha next year. OH MY he might screw it up
MadBuffaloDisease
It would seem to me that if Weis were to take the job and ND, leave NE and start TODAY, it wouldn't make one iota of difference to what NE is doing this year. We'll see. Brady has been pretty worried about losing Weis. And for good reason.
Thurman's Helmet
If Weis takes the ND job, he'll be finishing out this year with the Pats as he's under contract and the Pats most likely wouldnt release him from that. Both he and Crennell were due to leave after this year anyways. I can see Romeo getting either the Cleveland job, the Miami job (not a good fit), the Saints job (terrible job) or the Vikings job if they tank and Tice gets canned. All he has to do is say, "Bill, my heart isn't in it, I'm thinking of the ND job all the time, even when I try not to." and there is no way BB would finish out the year with a guy that he doesn't feel has his head 100% into the game.
