SageAgainstTheMachine Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 After a very rough opening drive, the defense hosted a major goal line stand to uncharacteristically keep Hillis out of the end zone and force a field goal. From that point on, Hillis was held to average numbers (an improvement for our piss poor run defense) and their passing game was completely shut down. An overall solid effort, and most importantly we never let up. Forced a ton of fumbles too, even if we only capitalized on two of them. Yeah, it was bad weather. Yeah, it was Jake Delhomme. But holding any NFL team to fewer than 200 yards from scrimmage is impressive in my book.
billsfan89 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 If you aren't going to shut down the Browns passing game what teams passing game are you going to shut down? That being said Browns ground game is pretty good and we limited them. The defense needs major draft resources put into it but there is at least some progress being made it seems.
BuffaloBill Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Yep during that opening drive I thought the game was going to be exceptionally ugly. Kudo's to the defense for stepping it up.
