daquixers Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 I dont follow Florida ... is he any good?
JimBob2232 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 He was awsome in the world series a few years ago. Should be a solid pitcher, but how dominating is in question. He could be a very very good pitcher, or he could be average. Its a risky deal, but I would rather have him than milton or leiter.

Kevin Brown may get traded to Atlanta according to ESPN. And the Randy Johnson trade is NOT dead yet. That would be Vasquez to Chicago, and Johnson here...two Chicago White Sox pitchers to Arizona... Hmmm....this looks good... Randy Johnson Mike Mussina Carl Pavano Eric Milton Jarrett Wright/El-Duque
njsue Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 WOOOHOOO! Nice Job Cashman! David wells is going to the redsox Real power line up
Mike32282 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 WOOOHOOO! Nice Job Cashman! David wells is going to the redsox Real power line up 155978 Now all we need is for the Mets to overpay for Pedro, so he goes there instead of re-signing.
JimBob2232 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 As a yanks fan I would love to see pedro with the Pets. He wont be on the redsox anymore, and he wont be on the yankees. Seeing wells in beantown is a hard pill to swallow....seeing pedro in NY, and I will cry
njsue Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 It is possible that pedro might sign with the hapless metropolitans. Looks like they are cleaning house with pitchers. Al leighter went to the marlins.

Mike32282 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 BTW....here's a link... http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3238234 Carl Pavano appears to be headed to the Yankees, Sporting News has learned. Pavano has instructed his agent, Scott Shapiro, to work out a deal with New York for a four-year contract in the $40 million range.
Mike32282 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 And here's another.... http://www.nypost.com/sports/yankees/32658.htm It appears the Yankees have bested the Red Sox in the first offseason fight. According to multiple sources, Carl Pavano and the Yankees are drawing very close to getting a four-year deal worth about $42 million done. Once believed to be staying with the Marlins, the right-handed pitcher is leaning toward joining the Yankees over the Red Sox. Pavano, whose agent, Scott Shapiro, had a meeting with Yankee GM Brian Cashman last night at the winter meetings, visited Yankee Stadium last week. "It's up to Carl now, all the offers are on the table," Shapiro said. "It could happen in an hour or in a week."
Frez Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Red Sox = world champs Bankee's trying to buy heart is pricless........... Baseball really needs a salary cap, don't you think?
Thurman's Helmet Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Yanks could get Pavano but with Arizona signing some talent, they may decide NOT to trade Randy Johnson. A Yankees rotation of Mussina, Vazquez, Pavano, Wright and Brown is still pretty good. Pedro will most likely be resigning with the Sox this weekend. Schilling, Martinez, Wells, Arroyo and Wakefield are better than the above rotation. Tim Hudson is also in play.
YOOOOOO Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Good Luck gettin rid of Brown and that contract......
Thurman's Helmet Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Good Luck gettin rid of Brown and that contract...... 155995 Dont forget Giambi's 82 million over the next 4 years.
JimBob2232 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Might be able to get out of giambis contract due to steroids...stay tuned
Thurman's Helmet Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Might be able to get out of giambis contract due to steroids...stay tuned 155998 Thats not happening but if it does, then that means Sheffield's contract should also be voided right?
JimBob2232 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Thats not happening but if it does, then that means Sheffield's contract should also be voided right? 156000 Well....technically...yes. But the reality here is that the yanks will use steroids as a reason to void giambi because they dont want him. Sheff is performing so they will look the other way., plus he will likely retire after the season.
