Rush23 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Lions WR Nate Burleson is guaranteeing a victory over the 8-3 Bears this Sunday. Starting QB Shaun Hill is not playing...and in favor of him will be 3rd stringer Drew Stanton. What do you guys think? Does Burleson wind up looking like an idiot for guaranteeing this win? Kelly the Dog Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I think there should be a rule in the NFL that any player who guarantees a win, and then they lose, has to pay 1/16th of this year's salary cap number to charity, or to the other team.
erynthered Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I know Joe Namath, and he's no Joe Namath. < Lloyd Benson>
benderbender Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I think you have to be the starter at your position to make guarantees. He's their #1 receiver? Over Calvin Johnson? Really?
BobChalmers Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I think you have to be the starter at your position to make guarantees. He's their #1 receiver? Over Calvin Johnson? Really? Who said anything about Burleson being the #1 WR?
BuffaloWings Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I know Joe Namath, and he's no Joe Namath. < Lloyd Benson> Don't you mean Lloyd Bentsen? It was shocking when Namath made his guarantee, now it's commonplace idiocy for players to guarantee a win.
