Personally I don't care for the dude but dang, he's got to be thinking, "I better chill out". Next illegal hit almost guarantees he'll be suspended...

I'm not convinced it was a bad hit.I know the NFL is trying to change but it is a fast and physical game.
PromoTheRobot Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 This guy is a punk who is overdrawing his karma bank. One of these days someone will take his knees out...by accident of course. PTR
judman Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I hope he talks about retirement again... that was super funny. "The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein

Simon Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I really think he intentionally tries to hurt people. Yeah, just like 500 other defenders in the league.
CodeMonkey Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Apparently the NFL brass saw the hit the same way most here did.
billsfaninvgs Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Was it because it was helmet to helmet or because he was a defenseless player?

Personally I don't care for the dude but dang, he's got to be thinking, "I better chill out". Next illegal hit almost guarantees he'll be suspended... I am beginning to wonder if he will ever get suspended. Seems like he pays a fine almost every week. If he doesn't get suspended how can people be upset that Andre Johson didn't get suspended? Harrison is just a dirty player, plain and simple. Eventually he will paralyze someone or even worse, then the league might wish they did something besides collect his money for charity. Was it because it was helmet to helmet or because he was a defenseless player? Most likley because he left his feet like a missile and hit head first.
dayman Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I don't watch all the STeelers games but I know who he is and the controversy around him, watch all the Bills games...and see probably the closest to a dirty hit on Fitz all year when we play him. So...
Mr. WEO Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I hope he talks about retirement again... that was super funny. "The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein Einstein was defining "insanity", not "stupidity".
dayman Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) Einstein was defining "insanity", not "stupidity". lol EDIT: BTW he's been fined 17% (125K) of his 755K salary this year...although he got 10M bonus last year and a 2.8M bonus this year. Edited December 1, 2010 by dayman
CodeMonkey Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Was it because it was helmet to helmet or because he was a defenseless player? Steelers LB James Harrison has been fined $25,000 for roughing the passer, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Harrison made “helmet contact” to the chest of Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was in a defenseless position at the time the contact was made. So it was more or less for spearing a defenseless player, not contact to the head. I can see that.
smuvtalker Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/11/30/mike-tomlin-on-james-harrison-fines-hes-got-two-kids/ WOW...Tomlin is a total douche bag for this. Un-friggin-believable. I hope that fine doesn't force James and his family into a homeless shelter...
Wayne Cubed Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I wonder if these fines can be payed to charitys and therefore fall under the only pay 50% rule, if it goes to a charity. Then it would only be $75,000...
firemedic Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Harrison did lead with the head; spearing if I'm correct.
Ramius Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Yeah, just like 500 other defenders in the league. 500 other defenders aren't pieces of **** that lead with the crown of their helmet and aim for the opposing player's head on almost every hit.
