THE GASH STATION Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Spikes was never the same player after the achilles tear, and based on Merriman's injuries and roid, non roid performance I dont see him getting top dollar anywhere. If he wants to stay do you give him more than a one year deal ?
PromoTheRobot Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Why not? I know some here think we should shitcan him asap but what's the point? Let him heal and see what he can do in OTAs, assuming a reasonable deal can be struck. PTR

808 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 if he does want to stay we should be all about it. but id like him to go get that surgery he needs so he has maximum healing time.
benderbender Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 He found a sucker team to pick up his salary for this year. Mission accomplished. We won't be seeing him again.
JPCinTULLY Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 there where reports(dont rember where i saw them..espn i think) he was pissed the bills put in a claim(as there where others)..so i question the extent of the injury and def. dont think he wants to be in buffalo
stevestojan Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Steve Johnson has to make more than him. That would be my only request. Instead, Stevie will still be making $480k and Merriman, with 15 minutes of practice on his Bills resume, will make several time that.

I suspect he will be lucky to sign with someone.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 my answer.... if he makes the team better? then yes. if he makes no difference or makes the team worse? then no.
Sisyphean Bills Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Let's ask it this way: If you were Buddy Nix would you fork over some of Ralph's team allowance to keep Posluszny or Merriman?
Hapless Bills Fan Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Let's ask it this way: If you were Buddy Nix would you fork over some of Ralph's team allowance to keep Posluszny or Merriman? I think Pozluszny has more productivity for the last 3 years
mrags Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I think Pozluszny has more productivity for the last 3 years This is very saddening. I was having a good day until I read this. Poz an Merriman have probobly played about the same amount of games. Neither can stay healthy.

Billy in 4C Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Merriman will follow the money - which will not be buffalo. I've seen posts about this 1.7 mil being the "bonus" that we are giving Merriman to sign with us next year and similar theories which are garbage. Our front office made another mistake in player evalutation, period. Merriman has serious (beyond football) issues. He is done.

Our front office made another mistake in player evalutation, period. Merriman has serious (beyond football) issues. He is done. Ok so you called my post garbage. What if you are wrong? What proof do you have that he is done? If he is not and does go somewhere else next year and is probowl or at least good next year, what you are saying is you just don't want him on the team. That's garbage! Did you ever watch the guy play when he was good? I know he sucked it up after and made mistakes because he was "using" but really, you said he is done so you must know.
Nanker Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I look forward to next year's season of Dancing with the stars. I think Merriman and Maybin will make a terrific couple and could - go - all - the - way!
Helpmenow Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I'd takes Spikes over the LB's we have now. Cut Merriman lose.

If he wants to stay do you give him more than a one year deal ? The coaching staff will be able to tell if the guy is putting in an effort to contribute to the team. The should be rehabbing and doing what he can to contribute to the team. If he is just collecting his paycheck, I let him walk...
FreakPop Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Buffalo won't be resigning him. Unless it's league minimum. I don't see that happening.

If he wants to stay do you give him more than a one year deal ? Why not? The guy probably has more career sacks than our entire team and is still young. Sign him to a reasonable 1 year deal. If he's done, so be it. I'd rather piss away a couple $million on Merriman's chances than Maybin's.
