T master Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Seeing as Spencer Johnson was hurt 2 games ago & i heard that one of our draft choices Alex Carrington was going to be activated i was wondering if any one saw him play ?? I haven't seen or read any bad posts on his play or if he even did play . I do have faith in the Bills faithful on this page that if he turned in a bad performance it would have been known by now !! If any of you have any info i'd like to know cause i just have a feeling about this guy -- it's the same thing i thought about F.J. & S.J. so I would like to make it 3 for 3 !!
DrDawkinstein Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 not a whole lot to report or comment on yet, other than hoping he gets more playing time. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/123706-carrington-watch/
The Big Cat Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Some posters reported on watching him against Cincy, said he looked tough.

I saw him make a couple of special team plays - he was hustling and appeared to be more capable than unnamed Penn State DE/LB. Spencer has been playing decently but let's see what Covington can do the rest of the season.

Got some push and didn't look to be overmatched like Maybin's pansy ass.
AllDayADay Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Not sure why anyone is comparing him to Maybin, totally different positions. I thought he played well just needs to play fast and that will come in time. Big and strong, its what we need more of on the d-line.
jr1 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Chan plays guys that deserve it. He doesn't have time for charity cases. If you're good in practice, you'll see the field on Sunday
billsfan89 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Carrington look solid in his limited playing time in Cincy from what I saw. But he didn't play too much so its not a good sample size. All in all I would like to see him play more as he could only improve our run D and needs the playing time to develop.

Coleman was the guy who made the ST tackles. Carrington looked pretty stout; very encouraged by his size and no noticeably bad plays.

He really stood out in training camp in person as someone who just physically looked like a beast out there.
John from Riverside Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I was looking for him specifically in the Cinci game.....my observations - First let me preface with saying that Carrington is NOT Bruce Smith.....and will probably never be on that level. Bruce could hold his own in the run game AND he had an incredible pass rush.....your 3-4 ends in todays game keep offensive from shoving them down the field and allow linebackers to scrape down the line of scrimmage and make takles.....or penetrate gaps while down linemen (i.e. DE's and NT) hold the line......the problem with our defense is our LB's outside of Poz are not really very good. - Also.....because we are still transitioning and dont want to get creamed by other teams running games we are running a lot of 4-3 as well.......so its hard to get a full body of work on Carrington. - Physically Carrington is an absolute beast....I dont even want to make the physical comparisons that others are making with Maybin. Maybin is a naturally undersized guy that should really be concentrating on add weight to his frame to be able to compete even as a OLB.....Carrington is a naturally big (dare I use the same term as others have used for Schrobel in "country strong") but all in all is just a naturally huge person. You can also see that his pass rush is extremely raw. He uses strength to push OL to the QB or to hold his gap and not allow himself to be pushed. - I saw exactly what I expected to see against Sunday.....nobody is pushing him around and he still has a ways to go in order to be a complete threat....and that only comes by being on the field. The difference is I see Stroud get pushed around quite a bit.

Perhaps he will become an immovable object against the run, with a pass rush to be yet determined. Just glad to see him getting much needed playing time. We need to find out what he's all about. Let this beast evolve and grow.

Id say good review and about what you expect from a mid round dlinemen in his first year. Hard transition, but being physically gifted can't be taught.

Nanker Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Alex Carrington, Antonio Coleman, Error Maybe.
BillnutinHouston Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Alex Carrington, Antonio Coleman, Error Maybe. Error Maybe - good one, but the truth is more like "Error Definitely".
