Cam Newton has won nothing. Saying he is a winner is laughable.

Some would say that calling the future Heisman winner a non-winner is laughable.

Won nothing? Really? What does the 12 stand for in front of that 0 in their record?

Um he won a J-Co championship and the SEC West, and is about to win SEC and then go to the National Championship.

Thats not nothing not to mention going 12-0 in the regular season in the SEC.

What to say about Cam...??? Hmmm... I think the kid has potential, but I'm not sold yet on his ability to play in the pro game. Trust me... I was one of the few who wanted to see Vick here, so it's not about having a "mobile" QB.. it's about having a QB that can get us in the right direction sooner than later. I just dont know how Cam would do for his first few years. I just prefer D the first few rounds, if he's there in Rd 3, then maybe.

Quick question , do you think Fairley play can translate well to 3/4 end. Playing him and Williams on the D line could be tremendous .

I simulated a draft giving equal priority for all 8 of the Bills' needs---QB, RT, LT, OLB, TE, WR, DE, and NT.

This puts the picks into the computer's hands, giving us the best player available based on the Big Board. The results can help us get our priorities straight for Positional Needs.

Here are the results. I'm providing the drafted players near our pick to help adjust Positional Needs:

See page 2, some people think he is better suited at NT in a 3/4

The first few years for Cam Newton (Mallett or anyone else) will be dedicated to learning the game as it is for most young qbs. Rogers for the Packers didn't get serious playing time until his third or fourth year. There are a number of Mallett advocates. He is not going to immediately be ready to take the full time snaps. Havng a qb such as Fitz would be an excellent situation for any young qb to play behind for at least a couple of years. The only qb who is most ready to take over sooner rather than later is Luck. I'm not even sure he is coming out or if we will be in position to draft him.

The Bills are multi-years away from contending with the Jets or Pats in our division. It is my view that we need to get the franchise on the roster sooner rather than later. So when the team's roster is more developed the qb will be on board to lead a more competitive team.

As I have stated on other posts I'm confident that Cam Newton's draft status will continue to move up as the evaluation process advances. It is doubtful that he will last until the second round as many now believe.

Good point however, this team needs an impact defensive player that will make the pass rush better in the 1st round. This will lead to more wins in 2011.

If Cam is there in the second, then I'm on board with grooming the QB of the future for a year and half and continue to build the Defense through the rest of the draft.

BTW aren't you the same guy that was stating Mallet will fall to the late second? Still think so?

One thing just LEAPED off the page for me...

Julio Jones at #33 Overall?

Okey doke... B-)

I think you need to re-simulate since we have Seattles 4th rounder

What I have stated on Mallett is that I believe he will be ranked in the 15-25 range if not lower. I have questions about his durability and mobility. Because of those issues I don't believe he is a good fit for the Bills.

I feel strongly that as the draft evaluation unfolds Newton will go up the ranks and will be the second rated qb behind Luck. Will Newton be ranked as a player in the upper tier, where we will be drafting. Probably not. But my stance is that if Nix and his staff believe that Newton or Mallett for that matter are truly franchise qbs then they have to maneuver in this draft to get that caliber of qb on the roster sooner rather than later.

Interesting stuff though I disagree with your priorities. I would argue they are:

OLB, DE (pass rush specialist), ILB, TE, RT

QB ranks in the top 3 though to me it seems with Fitzbeard coming on the Bills have the option of looking to fill other needs right now. I guess it will depend upon the player available when they pick. I sincerely hope that the Bills do not take CB, WR, S, RB with any of their picks in the first three rounds. To me the front seven of the D - withthe exception of NT and one ILB is crying out for help. Stroud is not young, Kelsay is suspect and Johnson or Edwards fill roles. Unless divine intervention happens to save Maybin's career and he suddenly gets "it" I see the Bills working hard to get either a pass rushing DE or LB in round one or round two.

Shhh I secretly would be happy if the Bills took him in the second but I can't say that as it would ruin my credibility.

The problem isn't his throwing motion it's his footwork. I think Chan and team could straighten out the footwork while Fitzy starts.

The kid is special but is risky. The Buffalo media would stir up a controversy faster than you can fry up a chicken finger sub at Jim's steakout.

Quinn and Newton is like drafting TNT twice it could be highly explosive. Which could be a good thing or bad thing if it's not handeled properly.

I'm glad you're not the Bills GM drafting Newton with 1st is a worse idea than taking Quinn with the first.

Great metaphor sir..lol

but anyway I think Newton would be better than locker (not luck but he won't be there on our clock) but I do agree with the second round to *lebron james voice* bring his talents to Buffalo. I agree that chan can get his footwork in order to make him work out and that coming from chan hater turned chan liker. grab a defensive line man in the 1st then I'd throw my GM card on newton in the 2nd. Yep id risk the job on that guy...
