The Senator Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This signing was the brainchild of Buddy Nix and new pro personnel director Whaley. Fair enough, but it was a move that definitely reflects poorly on the front office. Makes me less confident about extensions for Stevie and Fitz. Also fair comments - but if they extended Chris Kelsay, I wouldn't be too worried about FitzJohnson. They're signed thru 2011 anyway, so we got 'til the 2012 season to extend them. But I do agree that our front office has no monopoly on perfection. (They extended Dick Jauron, ferchrissakes - why wouldn't they extend FitzJohnson?)
TPS Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Surprised no one is picking up on the Wrotto part. I won't be surprised to see him there for quite some time.
billnutinphoenix Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 one of the worst FA signings the Bills ever had...don't let the door hit ya on the way out...
Big Turk Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I heard he just signed as the brand ambassador for EZ pass NYS ROFL!! It will be sad to see "Turnstile" Green gone...but I am sure Fitz will be happy
AF88Bills Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 maybe the release simply means Wrotto can get them thru the season and into the draft where they'll target a tackle.....
qdawg in philly Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Sure there will be roscoe will be gone next year. Leodis will handle the PR duties, and Roosevelt or a Draft pick like Aj Green will be catching those passes. Roscoe ain't going nowhere!
John from Riverside Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Instead of people bitching about the mistake of signing him how about the praise to a front office that admitted their mistake early and got him out of here......
bbb Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Did they ever even bother making up the actual injury he supposedly had?
NaPolian8693 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I haven't agreed with a lot of things this regime has done. I will say, though, I strongly applaud their efforts to quickly shed dead weight. They are not afraid to release players that can not help the team going forward, and I really appreciate that as a fan.
Meark Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) The RT they jettisoned in a cynical salary-dump at the beginning of last season should still have been on the roster. Or they could've drafted one. Or they could've traded for Jamaal Brown. Or they could've signed Flozell Adams, who was manning the position very well for the Steelers before his injury. But go on. Flozell Adams is done.. No better than Green at this point or at any point this year. Edited November 24, 2010 by markinsd
Mr_Blizzard Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Buffalo Rumblings reporting that he's been waived off the IR list. Gailey apparently likes Wrotto (and depth on roster) I guess showcasing him the first couple games of the season didn't work out? I find it hard to believe that he was the best F.A. tackle they could find. What a waste of money!
Nanker Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 What the...? Man, I didn't see THAT coming. [/Mrs. Green]
GaryPinC Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Surprised no one is picking up on the Wrotto part. I won't be surprised to see him there for quite some time. Me too.
Spiderweb Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Buffalo Rumblings reporting that he's been waived off the IR list. Gailey apparently likes Wrotto (and depth on roster) Whether Gailey likes Wrotto or even Howard, this is nothing more than an indictment on the horrible play of Green. Nothing more, nothing less.
