BillsObserver
- Fred Jackson didn't have a huge workload today due to us having to pass most of the time but I thought he played his usual hard-nosed style. Not fast but very persistent with his runs. He finished with over 100 yards and a pair of TDs which is always a good thing for a running back. To me Fred's a guy who will never fully be appreciated because he isn't flashy, he doesn't showboat and he doesn't break the big one because of speed or jukes but I love the guy. He can be my running back every week. - Chan's 2nd half adjustments continue to impress me. We start slow as hell but we finish really strong. Here's to hoping we can step up the production in the first quarter. - So happy to see Carrington in there. Let the kid play! He's a pretty big dude. Also glad to see Moats get a lot of action. He gets SO close sometimes but just can't seem to get that sack. I still like his effort. - My boy Stevie's making a big name for himself. Saw a lot of highlights and comments on the guy during the halftime shows. - I thought Donald Jones contributions were noteworthy. Chan has clearly identified him as a guy he likes to go for short passes and gimmicky type of plays. I love the idea of figuring out what each man on this offense has to offer moving forward. - Shawn Nelson's lack of involvement is a disappointment. I know he can't block but I thought they could figure out a way to get him involved. Maybe there's more to it than just blocking. Not sure. Either way - the day we get a blocking tight end who can be a threat in the passing game is the day this offense becomes even more potent. - The TO, Ochocino and Palmer situation seems like a big mess. I still believe TO is a problem. His production is pretty good but it's due to him demanding all of the looks, all of the throws. Palmer seems to be ignoring Ocho. Just a weird situation that I'd hate to have with my team. - One of my favorite Sunday night rituals is watching the Bills post game videos on Buffalobills.com. I usually do this after Sunday Night Football. Can't wait to hear what the guys have to say after this win. I love hearing Chan talk football. Fitz too although he's a bit more predictable with his words. - I think I read somewhere that FITZMAGIC is 2nd in the league on 3rd downs? Fitz came through big on 3rd downs today. What else is there to say? Another 300 yard game for Fitz. I still root for this guy to throw 4 TDs a game. Love his leadership, love his intangibles. He's not the most consistent guy but he is capable of making a great throw from time to time. His reads on the defense always seem correct. There's a growing sentiment that with time he can improve his accuracy or consistency - but I'm not sure that's possible. That might be wishful thinking on our part but there's so much to love about this guy and week by week he's gaining more support from the fans. But next week is going to be tough - the Pittsburgh freakin' Steelers come to town. CAN'T WAIT, boys. GO BILLS (I freakin' love this team)
JStranger76
Agree that a solid all-around TE could really almost finish off this offense as a complete unit. You can't have it all but of course one more RT and big time QB would be nice too!

Talley56
Nice points. I completely agree with most of them. To add a couple: - To go along with the Fitz discussion, give him time and he is one of the best passers in the league. Seriously, his bad throws today were when he was either under pressure or rushed the pass. If he'd just take his time and set his feet on top of our line giving him time he can hit any of our receivers. - While I understand we have other needs, let's not ignore the running back position. Freddy takes a lot of shots and at his age that could spell trouble. If he gets hurt or starts to slow down, who do we turn to as far as a run it up the gut/keep the drive alive threat (especially since Spiller is not a between the tackles runner). I think the running back position is one of the easiest positions in football to address. Even though Fred is getting older in football years, he really hasn't played for a long time. My only fear with Freddy is he has looked really slow at points. But that's what Spiller is for. Rest up that hamstring and get in there kid! I don't want anymore draft picks wasted on a running back for another 5 years. I like your point about Fitz' bad throws.
Zulu Cthulhu
Fred's strength is vision. He showed it again today. He's always been below average speed, average power. But he's disciplined and knows how to wait for and hit holes. Steve johnson is a star in the making. Probably the only truly great draft pick of the previous 5 years.
