Spun Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I heard the news on a Toronto radio station about ten minutes ago... http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/article/894070--former-nhl-coach-pat-burns-dead-of-cancer-at-age-58?bn=1 RIP Coach...
Dante Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Sad. Great coach. Over the last year I didn't even recognize him
Spun Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 I was just looking over the coaches won-loss record. He coached winners on all four teams that he coached (Habs, Leafs, Bruins and Devils). He will be in the Hall of Fame very soon. My father had the same cancers and lived for seven months after diagnosis. Colon and pancreatic cancers are usually fatal and quickly so. I hate all the cancers. I'm glad the coach doesn't have to suffer any more. Here is a link to the Montreal tribute for the coach before last Saturday's Habs-Leafs game, a very classy sendoff: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=544102 http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Former+Habs+coach+Burns+never+backed+down/3859428/story.html#comments http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Burns
Dante Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Last time the Leafs were good he was the coach. That says a lot! Very sorry about your father.
