JCBoston Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 I'm laughing at the irony in the article on BB.com by Jerry Gray. Listen to this: "I've got to take a lot of the blame for our performance in the first quarter against the Miami Dolphins last weekend. I should have probably attacked them more with blitzes like I saw other teams do on film. As a defense, we did some stuff out of character and were trying to make plays too much rather than just playing the defense. We've got good defensive players and I should have gone after the quarterback right off the bat and not have been so concerned about all the other stuff that was happening." I seem to remember a particular Comeback Game where Jerry was on the other side of the ball from a defense that did exactly the same thing. In that game, the Bills defense was getting shredded by the Run-n-Shoot, and only in the second half when they switched back to the normal defense could they stop Houston. Now, Jerry and Co have been doing a great job this year in "adjusting" as the game goes on, so props to them, but hey... better late than never, I guess!
Dan Gross Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 And he at least admitted that part of the problem was the play-calling...rare that you get that.
