I hate the Bills ! Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 (edited) If the Season ended today and Buffalo, Carolina and Dallas all were 1-15 who gets the first pick ? Edited November 14, 2010 by Philhansonfan
gobillsinytown Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 If the Season ended today and Buffalo, Carolina and Dallas all were 1-15 who gets the first pick ? There are people on this board who are a lot more knowledgable, but I would guess it depends on the division records and maybe their records from the previous year?
Brandon Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Its impossible to say without seeing an updated strength of schedule for those teams after this weekend. Dallas went into this weekend with the weakest strength of schedule (.562) and would pick first, but that will change many times between now and the end of the season. Buffalo would pick second and Carolina third, but again, this could change as soon as this weekend's results are calculated and certainly will as the season wears on.

And if strength of schedule doesn't decide it, I believe division or conference tiebreakers are used, and then a coin flip.
1B4IDie Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 (edited) It's very likely the Bills lose any tie breaker based on Strength of schedule. In the situation posted by the OP right now the Bills would pick 3rd. Edited November 14, 2010 by Levitre + Wang = Wood

hamtenp Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 If the Season ended today and Buffalo, Carolina and Dallas all were 1-15 who gets the first pick ? We won the LOSERBOWL!!! Does that count to get the first pick?
Geno Smith's Arm Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 If the Season ended today and Buffalo, Carolina and Dallas all were 1-15 who gets the first pick ? Why even think about it, when so much is going to change? Really, lemme know why you have any kind of interest in something so pointless.
Ray Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Who cares....let's win some more games and draft where we draft and get a good player regardless. R Fitz was sa 7th rounder, F Jackson was undrafted and they are outperforming 1st round picks. There are 7 more weeks in the regular season to go. What is the Bills go 6-2?

No offense, but it's that kind of thinking that gets you a decade of mediocrity. Championship teams are built through the draft, and they're built with high round picks that contribute. They're also built by having people smart enough to draft properly, so the Bills are probably screwed anyway. (SARCASM) Point is, it's a nice story to have a few late round and unrestricted free agents filling the roster, but you really think the Steelers or Colts win their Super Bowls without the plethora of 1st and 2nd rounders at key positions on offense and defense? Would you really rather have the revolving door at left tackle instead of just taking Joe Thomas and securing the position for 10 years? Edited November 14, 2010 by ohiotim
Nanker Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Don't drink your dirty sock water yet. The Bills could very well win 2 - 4 more games this season. Cincinnati, and The JESTS, and perhaps the Vikings and even the Browns are possible wins.

Actually real life says that while yes good drafting is one big key to team building it is no way the only way a team builds a winner. In fact doom seems most likely to be found if one locks into focusing only on one aspect of team building. If it was so easy and so clearly rote then this would not be a problem, You simplify things too much.
The Senator Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 If the Season ended today and Buffalo, Carolina and Dallas all were 1-15 who gets the first pick ? New England*.
