Even Jay Cutler

The sad thing is that the Bears offensive line is not very good. Even though we were blitzing a lot, we could hardly get any pressure on him.

The good news (as someone else mentioned), we still have the number one pick in the draft.

3-4 epic fail

absolutely incorrect

actually the opposite is true

by gutting the defense and allowing record points against, the Bills are in prime position for the # 1 pick and a franchise QB.

there is no other explanation for the way the front office handled the moves this year -

1. changing the defense

2. hiring a boob to run the conversion

3. ignoring the 2 huge holes at OT

4. cutting loose the only viable NFL vets on the OL in Incognito and Scott

5. burying all of your draft picks on the pine

6. even considering Trent as the QB- but he proved too toxic and had to scrapped

From that perspective, it's the second Donahoe regime.

Scuttle the roster, completely change the coaching staff, hire a bunch of assistant coaches with little NFL experience, sign a few "names" to big deals, fill out the roster with scrubs, wash, rinse repeat.

Almost makes you want to pull aaron schobol out of retirement. I really don't know how well he would have played at OLB though.

And what is still sad is, even if we add a pass rusher, that isn't going to fix our run defense. Then we also have oline woes.... this team needs so much fixing it is ridiculous. this team is going to be frustrating next year. Just hope we don't bottom out.

I'll make the guess that He'd be just as good as a pass rushing OLB as a DE... maybe not double digit sacks but at least 7 or 8. He was single handedly the biggest reason we got those INTs last year (along with hte facto byrd drops nothing thrown/tipped his way). no one ever gave Schobel credit, btu the guy was our best front 7 player since Ted washington left... hands down. don't give me that fletcher, Takeo, or even Pat williams argument... Schobel was consistently very very very good for a long time. And... man's a class act.

I have heard on more then one occasion that DE's in the 3-4 defense are supposed take up blockers and not get many sacks. The leading sacker in NFL history played in this defense.

imagine how many sacks he would have had with an aggressive coach that knew what he was doing.

too bad a chunk of his career was wasted under Walt Corey and those other read and react clowns
