I've seen several variations of that play over the past few years, and I'm surprised that it still works.

This is my take exactly. That coach of the team that scored is probably one of those !@#$ football dads who thinks his son (the QB) will be the next John Elway or something and winning the peewee football championship is the springboard to a highly successful football career.

What I don't like about this play (and those like it) is that it basically tells the kids to lay out any player, no matter what. Why take the chance it could be one of these plays? Just tackle the guy with the ball, even if it seems like play is stopped....just to be sure.
