Man, now you guys are scaring me from having the surgery! I'm definitely going to do some more research. I believe there is a new form of LASIKs (Allegerto Wave) which I heard is safer but I'll need to dig for more info.

You already mentioned something that raised a red flag. Your eyes have been changing every year.

 

Surgery does nothing to prevent this change, thus if your goal is to get rid of glasses, but your eyes are still changing, you'll be back in glasses in no time. You'll need to pray that the changes in your eye are then correctable with lenses again. They might not be. You've carved a permanent prescription into your eye - thinning it in one area and now the eye may deform differently than without the surgery.

 

Normally, "good candidates" have stable prescriptions.
