Mark Vader
November is here, which means the big holidays of Thanksgiving & Christmas are upon us. With that also comes bigger titles at the movie theatres, as studios unleash their tentpole films for the Holiday Season. There will also be a lot of last ditch attempts for films to get in before the year is over so that they can qualify before the Oscar deadline is up. The next two months will have a little something for every type of moviegoing audience. So while you are all out shopping for turkeys, Christmas trees, and expensive gifts, remember to take a little time and enjoy some big entertainment as 2010 comes to an end. Coming closer to it's end is the long running Harry Potter series, with it's latest entry, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1". Naturally the final story is so huge that Warner Bros. just could not resist splitting it into two feature films. You gotta milk that cash cow for all it's worth. In this first half of the final outing for the boy wizard, Harry (Radcliffe), Hermione (Watson), and Ron (Grint) set out from Hogwarts to find and destroy the Horcruxes -- the secret to Voldemort's power and immortality. No doubt that fans will be lining up in droves for this as many will be wondering just were it will leave off before the final film in Summer 2011. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Jason Issacs, John Hurt, Michael Gambon, Miranda Richardson, Brendan Gleeson, Imelda Staunton, David Thewlis, Robbie Coltrane, Timothy Spall, Rade Serbedzija, Ciaran Hinds, Rhys Ifans, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright & Evanna Lynch. Russell Crowe continues to show his box office clout, as he headlines "The Next Three Days". A married couple's life is turned upside down when Lara Brennan is accused of murder. Three years into her sentence, Lara's husband John is struggling to keep their family together and, realizing his wife's deteriorating condition, he decides to break her out of prison. Also starring Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde & Brian Dennehey. Directed by Paul Haggis. Going for big laughs are Robert Downey, Jr. & Zach Galifianakis in director Todd Phillips' "Due Date". High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time. Also starring Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Foxx & Juliette Lewis. There'll be plenty of singing and dancing as Cher & Christina Aguilera star in "Burlesque". A small-town girl ventures to Los Angeles and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer. Also starring, Alan Cumming, Kristen Bell, Eric Dane & Cam Gigandet. Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford & Diane Keaton star in the long-delayed, "Morning Glory". A hotshot television producer is set the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show program, despite the constant feuding of its high-profile anchors. The two big animated studios have their eyes set on cornering the family market this November with their latest CGI animated films. The big question for these two flicks is, just how big is the anticipation? Dreamworks & Paramount release, "Megamind". Megamind is the most brilliant super-villain the world has ever known, though after several unsuccessful attempts to conquer Metro City, a new foe sees him attempt -- for the first time in his life -- to use his powers for good. Starring the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, David Cross, Ben Stiller, J.K. Simmons & Brad Pitt. Walt Disney Pictures releases it's latest non-Pixar CGI animated movie and first ever all CGI fairy tale movie, "Tangled". The long-haired Princess Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but when she falls in love with a bandit who was passing by she must venture into the outside world for the first time to find him. Starring the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, M.C. Gainey, Ron Perlman, Brad Garrett, Jeffrey Tambor & Donna Murphy. Denzel Washington pairs up with Chris Pine and re-teams with director Tony Scott in, "Unstoppable". A rail company frantically works to prevent an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying combustible liquids and poisonous gas from wiping out a city. Also starring Rosario Dawson. Universal brings us the Sci-Fi/Thriller, "Skyline". A group of friends fight to survive as a mysterious light source causes people to vanish into the air. Starring Eric Balfour, Donald Faison & Scottie Thompson. The effects look awesome, now how about the script? Jake Gyllenhaal & Anne Hathaway headline, "Love and Other Drugs". A romantic comedy that skewers the pharmaceutical industry and is centered on relentlessly charming Viagra salesman Jamie Reidy and his romantic involvement with free-spirited Maggie Murdock. Also starring Judy Greer, Hank Azaria, Oliver Platt, George Segal & Jill Clayburgh. James Franco stars in "127 Hours". Mountain climber Aron Ralston becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive. Also starring Amber Tamblyn & Kate Mara. Directed by Danny Boyle. Naomi Watts & Sean Penn star in "Fair Game". While investigating the existence of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, CIA operative Valerie Plame discovers her identity allegedly leaked by the government as payback for an op-ed article her husband wrote criticizing the Bush administration. Tyler Perry directs, "For Colored Girls". A drama centered on a group of black women whose lives and experiences intersect at a 12-step healing program. Starring Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Whoppi Goldberg, Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad, Kimberly Elise, Loretta Devine, Macy Gray & Tessa Thompson. In "Faster", An ex-con sets out to avenge his brother's death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. During his campaign, however, he's tracked by a veteran cop and an egocentric hit man. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Maggie Grace, Jennifer Carpenter, Tom Berenger, Moon Bloodgood & Carla Gugino. Jerry Christ
HP- Deathly Hallows, they really had to split the movie up or it would be atleast 5-6hrs after cutting parts out like they do and we know people can't sit still that long. If you read the books you don't really care and you understand that splitting it isn't a big deal, you already know that Harry di......I mean you already know what happens ......you just want to see how they visually do it. So if you're a fan of those movies, would you even want to see this one now or would you rather wait until you can see the whole thing back to back? I get the feeling that they'll re-release it to theaters once the 2nd part comes out and it will actually sell better then. So all the previews for that Skyline movie have really been bugging me. Did someone really have to go rip off a weak movie like Independence Day?

I am more into the idea that it is cut into and I know about where its going to be to get people all crazy.......but I'll probably watch it sometimes at the first of the year and then watch it back to back when the last one comes out. I have kept myself spoiler free from each book, including Deathly Hollows. That is up until now. Next time you post something like this, could you add something like "Spoiler Alert", just to spare those who do'nt know what happens. Unless of course you are joking about what you stopped from writing, in which case I apologize.

You have to remember that Independence Day made big bucks, that's what movies like these are made for. The biggest problem for Skyline is that there are no big name actors in it. I liked it when it came out, but I was only 15. Looking back on it, Will Smith is just about the only good thing about that movie. That seemed to be the moment where his career went to the next level. Skyline may wind up having very little in common with that movie, but it definitely gives off that vibe in its previews. NyQuil
Excited to see HP but I'll probably walk away shaking my head just like I've done for the last four movies. Initially when I read the book I thought one movie would work because they could cut out about 300 pages of them just camping in various places in Britain. Then when I reread the book I realized they couldn't. Two movies is a good idea.

I remember when it came out and it was supposed to take Bill Pullman's career to the next level. Next movie I remember him, he was playing the lead in a romantic comedy opposite Ellen Degeneris. Yeah, that worked out well.

I will see "Tangled", but I still am curious as to why they didn't keep the original title of "Rapunzel".

(I would not add spoilers on a website or tell a person, I hate when people do that to me.....I usually say, you got a great book you can tell the ending too? LOL) If you can't sit back from movie one and come up with your own ending then you will never get the ending to this movie...... GREAT MOVIE! I recommend it........it shall be a wonderful movie if they do the book justice..... Edited November 12, 2010 by Jerry Christ
