IDBillzFan Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Fact of the matter is that anything and everything the Democrats wanted to pass there was a GOP spokesperson there saying "No" that idea is bad, etc. Also saying Democrats are not including, Obama or whomever reaches across the aisle... Republican answer after, No or crickets. Granted Democrats should have been more united and passed more. Now the Republicans have gained control of the House, will have (sick feeling) Boehner as Speaker. Now if they truly have the American people and progress in mind they will have no choice but to reach across the aisle. Same goes for Democrats. Nice job missing the point. Once more. Slowly. You owned the entire government. You didn't need GOP assistance to do what you thought was right. You did what you thought was right. It turned out to be wrong. In lieu of admitting the people hated your way of doing things, your answer for last night's asswhomping is "This election was a repudiation of GOP saying 'no' all the time." This would be the most ridiculous spin ever if not for Nancy "Baghdad Bob" Pelosi calling a 10 a.m. press conference today to announce, yet again, that she is more confident than ever that the Dems will retain congress.
pBills Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Anything and everything the Dems tried to do for the last two years was ridiculous. This "let's work together" bull **** is only useful if you have a common goal, which they clearly did not. The Dems want ever expanding government control (Funny how no matter how much govt they get, it's never enough) and the Republicans [presumably] want less. Not much of a common goal there. Being the "pary of no" is the first thing Republicans have done in the better part of 10 yrs that I've been happy about. And go along to get along politics is for the spineless jellyfish who want to coast through and hopefully get reelected on name recognition by not ruffling any feathers. If the shoe was on the other foot I think you'd be ok with "NO". I'm not sure about ever expanding control. Yes, the healthcare bill placed more under government control. Other than what else? Republicans ideas scare the crap out of me. Privatizing Social Security, Eliminating the Department of Education, etc., etc.
1billsfan Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Cuomo is a reasonable candidate (and the only reasonable choice among the given alternatives). Brown? I heard both speeches, Paladino's and Cuomo's, on the radio last night and Palidino sounded like a much more reasonable person. Cuomo seriously sounded like a truck driver on crank. I'm so glad we have Christie here in Jersey. I think he'd have a great chance at beating Obama if he were to run in 2012.
Gary M Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I think it was the country of dumb asses being duped by Republicans 2.0 (Tea Party) Ah there it is the old liberal "you just don't understand what we have done for you" Please continue to have that mindset, 2 more years of Obama saying "I just haven't explained it well enough" and the GOP will have all three branches. I'm not sure about ever expanding control. Yes, the healthcare bill placed more under government control. Other than what else? Republicans ideas scare the crap out of me. Privatizing Social Security, Eliminating the Department of Education, etc., etc. He took control of the auto manufacturers and then gave them to the unions!!!!!!!!! He "bought" major holdings in the investment companies with tax money!!!!!!

Unfortunately, that may be the first time Palidino sounded reasonable in two months. Ditto on Christie. I'd love to see him in the White House.
Magox Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I think it was the country of dumb asses being duped by Republicans 2.0 (Tea Party) Very Bitter of you PBills, and reminiscent of what I observed from the MSNBC commentators last night, all they could do is come up with vitriolic commentary. That was pretty pathetic of you to say, and I was thinking for a second there that you..... nevermind Anyway, You guys have to watch this, Bachman and her supporters turns the tables on Chris Tingles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVQvuQ1s11k

Privatizing Social Security, Eliminating the Department of Education, etc., etc. Exactly what does the Federal Dept of Education accomplish that you are so fearful of losing? Explain why you think we need over 5,000 people (at cost of what, $1B per year?) to basically pass through money to state and local levels. Can you really not think of any better uses for that $1B? Privatizing Social Security, Eliminating the Department of Education, etc., etc. Whereas I agree that social security should be scaled down and retirement should be left more to the individual I can see where a reasonable person may disagree with that. The Department of Education however, is great if you're primary interest is making sure DC has the inside route to the minds of children with an easy parental bypass so as to provide all the brainwashing needed. Otherwise I see no reason why a reasonable and impartial individual with the interest of the children in mind, would support such a travesty. In fact, if you're all about the Feds running education (which incidentally, there is an inverse relationship thus far in this country between increased Fed govt involvement in education, and output of said educational system) you should be touting GWB who expanded the Feds role into education more than any President before him. You probably don't know about this do you? Of course not... What about the Regulations from the Wall Street Bill, do you even know what the Dick DUrbin amendment does? What about the Consumer protection Agency, you don't know the effects of this as well do you? I could go on and on. Also, god forbid that we are able to have more control of our own Social Security. I for one would much rather have more control of my hard-earned money rather than having the government commingle all this money into one big government slushfund so that they can continue their irresponsible spending binges. YOu are deathly afraid of this, because that is what your leaders tell you. This is all about learning to think for yourself, Privatizing S.S is the best solution there is. It gives more control to us and that is what it should be about.

When the baby is in corner crying that they are being left out, you try to involve them. That is the smart thing to do. Especially when people want parties to reach across the aisle. Of course people did not like want was done while Democrats had full control. Scary thing is that they have a short memory since the Reps have done crap as well when they had full control. The election was based on those feelings and certain groups pushing buttons, inciting the masses. They did a great job of that. Hopefully the Dems will do a better time next go around. And I think they will regain congress. Did you understand all of that? Edited November 3, 2010 by pBills
Rob's House Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 But we are all too dumb to invest our own money and save for retirement.!!! This is why our liberal friends are looking out for us. They know that a team trust fund babies turned lawyers turned politicians led by a community organizer is the most qualified group to make the best decisions to suit the needs of millions of different people each of whom have their own individual wants and needs.
drnykterstein Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Republicans ideas scare the crap out of me. It's not pretty.
Andy Rooney Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 When nearly 70% of the American population did'nt want obamacare shoved down their throats the Democrats did'nt listen = CAN YOU HEAR THEM NOW!! You got your asses handed to you last night, good job Democrats. We thank you for not listening to the American public.

You calling LABF a moron is ironic and I like irony so As to your analysis, yes, Republicans spent a bunch of money on retarded things like Medicare expansion (for political gain/triangulation) that cost them their seats. The Dems "mandate" was not to be socialists and/or statists, but rather to be less retarded. On this charge they failed miserably and are reaping their rewards in the form of lost seats.

You keep talking about people being "incited," as if things wouldn't have been so bad for the left if only the people had a better understanding of what the left is trying to do. You keep trying to explain away last night's asswhomping without even remotely acknowledging that your asses got kicked because your policies are embarrassing. No matter how many times you try to say something stupid like "Republicans hate gays and want old people to die and steal their social security and medicaid," it doesn't change the fact that your plan to save the world from itself was rejected on an embarrassing scale yesterday and it had nothing to do with anything BUT a full scale revolt of the progressive agenda.

Yeah, nothing had to do with the start of Republican 2.0, The Tea Party Invasion. Let's see they came out saying Democrats were going to take away Medicare and Medicaid, Death Panels, the President doesn't believe that America isn't the greatest force in the world, Democrats don't care about jobs, Democrats don't care about freedom, etc., etc. And just own up to Republicans don't like gays and that lifestyle. They DO want to privatize Social Security. And I still wouldn't call yesterday embarrassing, if we lost the Senate to, maybe. All in all, let's see what great things the Republicans can do. They had control for 8 years, been sitting on the sidelines for an additional 2.. so after 10 years, they should have some great ideas right?
Gary M Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Texas = booming economy, budget surplus Yeah, screw that!!!!! Surplus, must be they aren't helping the poor enough!!!!
