Chef Jim Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 So we vote tomorrow on Prop L which would ban people from sitting or lying on the sidewalk. There are plenty of laws on the books that currently make it unlawful to do so. Those aren't enforced, like many laws here in this crazy city. I saw a guy outside the grocery store yesterday with a sign that said "No on L - Sidewalks are for people." I pulled over, rolled down my window and said: "excuse me, you do understand their called sideWALKS for a reason don't you?" Then I asked him "why do they call them sidewalks and not sidesits or sidelies?" His response? "it's just easier that way."
