thewildrabbit Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The thing is.... its takes awhile for Chan Gailey to figure stuff out.... look how much time he spent on Trent Edwards before he cuts the guy after 2 games CLEARLY. Spiller is not getting enough touches, the reasons... Gailey realized Roscoe Parrish is much better the Spiller as a receiver at this point and is using him more in the passing game. Second Gailey is finally starting to realize that Fred Jackson is better then Spiller at RB at this point, in blocking for protections and finding holes and also making something out of nothing. That offensive line is still a bad line, Fitz is making it look better then it is, plus it got better once Cornell Green left the field. Least we all forget that Chan Gailey stated that ""a good RB will make the O line block better"", what he didn't realize is he already had that guy in Fred Jackson.I'd say give Chan Gailey some time to figure out how to give Spiller more touches and put him in position to make plays. Lastly, wanna talk bust.... right now Ryan Matthews in SD is failing way more then Spiller, he is getting way more touches and having a tough time finding that hole.
bowery4 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Your opinion carries extra weight since your Ravens prediction. PTR You are wrong People want to crucify you because of your lack of football knowledge. You waste draft picks by "reaching" for football players with that top pick.... Think of the players that people would have had no problem with had we used that pick to take them - Jimmie Clausen (just got started then moved to the bench by a team that has QB needs) - Brian Bulaga (looks very bad at right tackle right now) - Sam Bradford was not there - It looks like every LT we wanted is either struggling right now....or WASNT THERE to be drafted - Trade downs have to make sense....the fact that the bills did NOT trade down can also mean we were not being offered the right amount of value. Would you rather we got jipped on a trade? oh and - We did not know that Marshawn Lynch was even going to report...we also didn't know if he was going to stay out of trouble - Fred Jackson is a good back and he is also a little older back...the shelf life for running backs is very low - We had no way of knowing Joique Bell was going to look so good. So what did the bills do? They took what was widely considered to be one of the best offensive playmakers out of this draft for a team that at the time was seemed totally devoid of playmakers. Yesterday CJ didnt do much because the Ravens kicker kept kicking the ball out of the park for touchbacks. THIS ^ and THIS v I don't understand how Spiller is a bust when the plays he has been in there, he's done relatively well. Just because a veteran is higher on the roster than you does not mean you are a bust as a rookie. It means that you came into a team where you weren't expected to be the #1 guy right away. I'll call him a bust when he gets the starting role and stinks it up. Until then I'll enjoy that we have two backs that do different things, and do them well. I still understand and like the pick and just as a reminder the Bills OL has been less than stellar this year as well. He are some stats from another rookie who was called a bust by fans on a team with a bad OL Rk ▾ G# Date Age Tm Opp Result Att Yds Y/A TD Rec Yds Y/R TD TD Pts Rt Yds Y/Rt TD 1 1 1969-09-14 22-067 BUF NYJ L 19-33 10 35 3.50 1 2 64 32.00 0 1 6 3 68 22.67 0 2 2 1969-09-21 22-074 BUF HOU L 3-17 19 58 3.05 0 1 5 5.00 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 3 1969-09-28 22-081 BUF DEN W 41-28 24 110 4.58 0 5 45 9.00 1 1 6 1 17 17.00 0 4 4 1969-10-05 22-088 BUF @ HOU L 14-28 13 27 2.08 0 3 32 10.67 0 0 0 1 22 22.00 0 5 6 1969-10-19 22-102 BUF @ OAK L 21-50 6 50 8.33 0 1 11 11.00 0 0 0 2 51 25.50 0
