drnykterstein
conner = schmuck Eitherway, the GOP still drives the country further into debt every single time they take over the presidency, it's been that way for 40 years now. Bill Clinton had a budget surplus and your boy Bush turned that surplus into a massive amount of debt.

You wrote specifically that "Clinton had a budget surplus." I didn't ask you to show me a 10-year-old forecast of what might have happened under Clinton's administration.I asked you to explain and show the surplus Clinton had. I'm asking for the specific amount of the surplus and the steps he specifically took to create that surplus. It's very easy to say Clinton had a surplus. Liberals say it all the time. I'm just asking for the specifics. They must exist or you wouldn't have made such a definitive statement. So please. Explain.

IDBillzFan
Hi, you cannot be sated because you are a brainwashed Republican shill. The information is out there, and clearly you have no interest in knowing this information. Clearly you hate information. I love information. Unfortunately, the only information you've been able to find is a link to a 10-year old forecast of what MIGHT happen during Clinton's term, and that does nothing to support your statement that Clinton had a surplus. The embarrassment you must feel for providing such a ridiculous link aside, we can only conclude that your statement is, once again, incorrect until you can specifically tell us what the surplus was, and how he achieved it. Nanker
Somebody explain it to the peanut gallery that Clinton rode the Y2K bug to prosperity. It cost the country roughly $300 billion in IT spend to mitigate the risk that Bill Gates' lack of foresight wrought upon us. Of course it also brought us the dot com bubble - and lest we forget - the dot bomb bust which quickly followed in 2000. That was fueled by the fact that corporate IT budgets were slashed as they had stocked enough new hardware and software in advance of the pending doom to last them five years, and the federal anti-trust suit against Microsoft - initiated by the Clinton Administration's Justice Department - getting a "favorable" ruling in court which declared Microsoft a monopoly. Sell orders became de rigueur and a near panic ensued. The NASD has never recovered. Consumer confidence is a tender commodity. Many progressive Dems have made careers out of trashing capitalism entrepreneurship and the economy. They've done untold amounts of harm to our nation and its future. President BO still hasn't figured out that it's HIS responsibility to pull Americans together to work toward bringing the country out of its malaise, and that the best way to do that is to encourage free enterprise - not demonize it. He has atrocious business instincts and is tone deaf to capitalistic concepts. "Industrial progress, mechanical improvement, all of the great wonders of the modern era have meant relatively little to the wealthy. The rich in Ancient Greece would have benefitted hardly at all from modern plumbing : running servants replaced running water. Television and radio? The Patricians of Rome could enjoy the leading musicians and actors in their home, could have the leading actors as domestic retainers. Ready-to-wear clothing, supermarkets - all these and many other modern developments woul have added little to their life. The great achievements of Western Capitalism have redounded primarily to the benefit of the ordinary person. These achievements have made available to the masses conveniences and amenities that were previously the exclusive perogative of the rich and powerful." Milton Friedman on the evils of capitalism Instead of uplifting messages, we get a constant drone about how evil and unfair capitalism is, about obscene evil profits, Banks-bad, Wall St.-bad, Insurance Companies-bad, Pharma-bad, Bush-bad, bad, bad, bad. Now we're too stupid to understand the wonderful things this jug-eared dope and his tax-cheating cronies and leftist professorial types have foisted upon us - "healthcare" (whatever THAT is), nationalizing the banks, the student loan program, the big auto makers, the home mortgage industry, and bringing a so-much-greatly-improved standing in the world in the eyes of our enemies like Iran, Hezbollah and Venezuela. He's trying to get the US to emulate the EU - when that socialist enterprise is hemorrhaging at the seams and 20 year-olds are rioting - RIOTING- because they're so worried about their RETIREMENT and that they won't be able to sit back and suck on the national teat until they're 62! Is that the America that you want? President BO is the high priest of the modern CargoCult Religion. Look up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's the GOVERNMENT raining down prosperity and plenitude, free food and flat-screened TVs onto the masses. Big government is an opiate and sadly, there's no shortage of drug pushers for that particular commodity right now.
