Wow, good luck to him.

ALS is by far the worst disease I've had the misfortune to see up close. Scary how prevelant it seems to be these days, especially among middle age people.

Surgery went well and John came home Sunday. We drove to Atlanta over the weekend hoping to see him, but all was too hectic. Surgery was successful, but details from the family have been sketchy. My guess is it will be some time before they can tell if there were any positive results. Thanks for your prayers and will keep you posted when we hear some good news.

Tomorrow, my old neighbor & best friend in Atlanta is battling ALS & will become the seventh person in the U.S. to undergo a stem cell transplant for treatment. A great guy and full of hope. Please keep him in your prayers. Go get 'em John!

I hope it works out for him and will prove to be of benefit to others.
