Sabre Bill Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Forget watching trent! That's either sado- or maso-, just not sure which! Anyway, this weekend will be the 3rd week in a row the BCS leader gets smacked! And, the "Draft Blaine Gabbert" threads will start in earnest. Just thought I'd get a head start! People don't know him as well as some of the others, but he'll be part of the "first round QBs" chat after this weekend!

Mike In Illinois Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Gabbert will do well in the NFL as a QB just like Brad Smith and Chase Daniel. Most of the quarterbacks from a spread-offense in college do not transfer well into the NFL. I'd pass on Gabbert.
Bob in STL Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Gabbert will do well in the NFL as a QB just like Brad Smith and Chase Daniel. Most of the quarterbacks from a spread-offense in college do not transfer well into the NFL. I'd pass on Gabbert. Unlike Chase Daniel, Blaine Gabbert has prototypical size for the quarterback position. Height : 6 foot 4 Weight : 226 lbs. Unlike Brad Smith, he has an arm that can make every throw in the playbook. He has great athletic ability, speed, and is very smart. He has a 4.1 core GPA (with honors classes) and a 25 ACT. Gabbert is a Junior and I predict he will stay in school another year.
Sabre Bill Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 So, . . . Like I was sayin' . . . I hope Bob in STL is wrong about BG stayin in school another year. He's good, makes fewer mistakes than most, and has all the physical tools -- including a brain! He solidified his spot in the "draftable QBs" conversation tonight. He's not Heisman-flashy like Newton, but he can do everything, make every throw and even use his legs.
